Well, Worley had a terrible first inning, but a gutsy next five. The gap may prove too big, though.

A positive: Marte's starting to look like last year's version lately. That's very nice.

since he started playing CF he has been on fire.
14 games, 6 2B, 1 3B, and 3 HR, and a bunch of RBI.

How is he looking in CF. This might be the time to switch cutch and marte as marte was supposed to be the stronger arm and better route guy to balls. the switch would lessen the amount of beating cutch might take to his body and allow him to last thru the rest of the year, then the see what happens next year.

I haven't actually been able to watch many games straight through lately, so I might have just seen the exception, but he made a sliding catch last night or the night before which should have been a coasting grab had he taken a good route, and he made an ill-advised throw to the plate against the Nationals, so I'm not so sure he's been as good as we might have expected. Either way, I doubt they move Cutch from CF.

Good news finally.

Interesting tidbit with the Braves....Heard this on the radio but can't find data to back it up but supposedly they only lost something like 4 times when they they hit a HR.

The Braves are also on a roll right now. Couple that with our slump, and you've got bad news.

Hopefully Cutch and Cole returning this week will spark the Buccos.

What a horrible time to go on a seven game losing streak. Not only are the Cards, Braves and Giants ahead of them for the wildcard, the Marlins are a half game behind them.

The leadoff walk hurt Cole, but I'm not very happy with Nix's effort on the RBI single. It looked like he didn't move. That ball wasn't hit all that hard, at least give it a chase and see if you can knock it down and save the run.

He can't hit, he might as well try to do something defensively.

The throw took Stewart to the baseline, Freeman was clearly out, and no violation of that rule.

Snider's arm is better than I thought, and accurate.

Cole is pitching a great game, too bad Alex Wood is that much better tonight.

Good character game from the Bucs to end the losing streak. Great first outing for Cole, the velocity was excellent, and the control will come as he settles back in, our two best bullpen arms locked it down when called upon, and the offense found just enough.
