LOL two BS icons and zero comments. So what's not true?

Have the Pats not run this team like a business?

Have the Pats not gotten rid of quality players while there was still value?

Have the Pats not released player right before their decline?

Were some of these not quality Patriots players?

Do the Pats not make moves that allow them to be competitive in the future?

Does Brady not hold the value of a couple of high draft picks?

Is Brady not at or very near the end of his career?

Are some posters to nostalgic to understand this?

Did the Pats not consider Jimmy the possible replacement?

Has not Jimmy shown to be pretty darn good so far?

As I said earlier this wreaks of the Babe Ruth trade. I expect a long period of ineptitude once Brady leaves.

1) Business yes. Good business sometimes say's repay loyalty with loyalty.

2) Quality players one year early not one year late, your a better judge than Bill on whether this year is early or late?

3) Yes, most were also quality players who were asking for a big payday.

4) Will they not be competitive next year? In BB I trust.

5) Evidently near but not at.

6) Of course.

7) Maybe, Bill spoke very highly of him. Almost every year they draft a QB in the mid to later rounds.
Mallett, Garoppolo, Hoyer, Brissett, Cassell...All with the hopes that they would be the "Next" Tom Brady.
Doesn't mean you discard the greatest because one played well.

8) Yup Jimmy has played well. And he has given hope to the rest of the 49ers team that they are playing like they have something to play for.

9) If the Brady leaves in Feb and the Pats fold up shop and become the Boston Browns, your Nostrafuckindamus. Might not happen though, they won 11 with Cassel.

This is not a stats issue we are all aware of the past the issue is the future. Those who live in the past limit their future, this is the approach the team seems to be taking.

And don't compare animals to humans I have put down several loyal dog's with a last meal and a .22 to the head. When it's time it's time.

Of course it is a stats issue, those stats are who Brady is. His stats show he is playing as well as ever. Yet you want him gone because "Statistically" he cannot play this well much longer.

Dying dogs are one thing, if your killing dogs for no other reason than they are old, you've got other issues.

I never said statistically he could or couldn't do anything, don't put words in my mouth you can't back up, I havn't time for stupid shit.

I have said and maintained that the future of the franchise should not hinge on a 41 year old Qb that we are fond of. I made it clear this team has cut quality players in the past in order to help the team in the future. And I feel this could have been done in this instance.

So why do you want him gone? Just because he'll be 41 next year?
The team has cut quality players that were nearing the end of their prime or were creating chaos or asking for huge contracts. Which combination of those is Brady?

I think you guys are forgetting the Patriot Way of planning only for the next game ... we all know Jimmy G was always here as a reserve behind Brady and B.B. did him, Brady, and Yee a great favor ... but to replace Brady on this current SB run would be ridiculous

I didn't say now. What if they won this yr and then BB wanted to move him? You don't think Jimmy could win a SB with the offense that is coming back next yr? My intentions were to never trade him this yr. Pretty sure TB would have brought a 1st rd pick.

I am not going to try and put words in Yankee mouth, but I think he is saying with a guy like Jimmy behind Brady, you can move on. It's not like BB is forcing TB out the door for Mallet or Hoyer to take over. Lots of people felt like Jimmy was more than capable of being a good starting NFL QB. BB felt he had the future QB in place. Trust me TB at 41 is better than most NFL QB's at 30, but we could, possibly, sent the next great QB out the door for a 2nd rd pick for a 41 yr old QB.

So you answer the question with a question and accuse me of not keeping up...

Sure thing smart guy.
The answer is contained in previous posts. If you can't see that it's on you slick.

I get all that. Jimmy has, and has already shown, lots of promise on top of his natural talents.
But much like after the KC game from a couple years ago there's a Chicken Little crying impending doom.
I have more faith in Bill and Robert than I do in the Boston media or ESPN.

I would have rather kept Jimmy than gotten the second rounder for him but Jimmy did not want to play second and would not sign an extension. Brady has done so much for the organization that it would be wrong to pull him before his abilities fail him.

We also may have sent the next Cassell to the Niners.

Bill doesn't make too many mistakes that come back to haunt the team. I trust that he made this trade with the future in mind, both long and short term.
They may have their eye on somebody in the 2019 draft already.

It's over guys..............JG is gone. It's getting worse in here than CNN beating on Trump daily.

My dicks bigger than your dick. My dicks bigger than your dick when it's hard. No it isn't, yes it is. Your fat, your ugly, You smell like a fart, your mother is the local pump.

Brady is here, Garapollo is gone........................if you have a problem with that, tough shit, send Bill a text.

Come back in 15 years if Garapollo is still playing and has the hardware that Brady does. Just don't count the two rings that Brady won for him.

Just an aside..........................

It appears that the Patriots will lose both Josh and Matt. Next year is going to require some solidification in the player ranks while adjustments are made. Brady will be the quiet OC and I predict that the Patriots will win their third Super Bowl in a row................something else that will never happen again.

It's a conversation, not sure why you got a knot in your diaper. People have opinions, people discuss differences, the conversation has been civil. It's just good clean fun, we can all still hold hands and sing Cumbaya.

So "IF" the Pats draft a QB this year at what spot do you see that happening and do you all have your eye on anyone?

There are 3 guys I like. Can be had with 2nd or later picks. Mason Rudolph. Luke Falk. Drew Lock.

With Hoyer only under contract for this year I'd be pretty surprised if they don't draft one. As I said in another thread I won't be shocked if they take one in the 1st to gain the 5th year option knowing they've got another pick 8-10 spots later. A lot of intriguing guys, all need work. I like what I've seen of Falk. Kinda meh on Rudolph. If Josh stays long term I'd kinda love to see what he could do with Jackson.
