LOL two BS icons and zero comments. So what's not true?
Have the Pats not run this team like a business?
Have the Pats not gotten rid of quality players while there was still value?
Have the Pats not released player right before their decline?
Were some of these not quality Patriots players?
Do the Pats not make moves that allow them to be competitive in the future?
Does Brady not hold the value of a couple of high draft picks?
Is Brady not at or very near the end of his career?
Are some posters to nostalgic to understand this?
Did the Pats not consider Jimmy the possible replacement?
Has not Jimmy shown to be pretty darn good so far?
As I said earlier this wreaks of the Babe Ruth trade. I expect a long period of ineptitude once Brady leaves.
1) Business yes. Good business sometimes say's repay loyalty with loyalty.
2) Quality players one year early not one year late, your a better judge than Bill on whether this year is early or late?
3) Yes, most were also quality players who were asking for a big payday.
4) Will they not be competitive next year? In BB I trust.
5) Evidently near but not at.
6) Of course.
7) Maybe, Bill spoke very highly of him. Almost every year they draft a QB in the mid to later rounds.
Mallett, Garoppolo, Hoyer, Brissett, Cassell...All with the hopes that they would be the "Next" Tom Brady.
Doesn't mean you discard the greatest because one played well.
8) Yup Jimmy has played well. And he has given hope to the rest of the 49ers team that they are playing like they have something to play for.
9) If the Brady leaves in Feb and the Pats fold up shop and become the Boston Browns, your Nostrafuckindamus. Might not happen though, they won 11 with Cassel.
