Thus, for Brady extension, $33M of full guarantee; $24M of injury guarantee (only if injury in 2014 prevents continuing to play).

Brady's 2013 Cap charge on the extension is prorated $30M ($6M) plus $1M salary = $7M. Cash charge is $31M. $24M difference.

Thus, per @FieldYates, extension means Brady will make $33M over next 2 years compared to previously scheduled $19M. Got $14M.

The Broncos got slapped when they did something like that to Elway and Davis, when they deferred like 30 million of their pay until after they retired. The Pats better be more careful than that...
