I'm not basing my opinion on who would make the most money for the bowl & city, but who I think deserves it more based on their football team.

LOL.....the bowls don't give a rats ass about who deserves anything to play in their prestigious bowl game, just how much money they can make....Other then the big 4 bcs games, I can only think off the top of my head the Cotton bowl and the Gator bowl the names of bowl games that aren't fucking corporate advertisement games......and both those game have corporate sponsors as do the big 4 games....

1)Michigan St would be a second BCS B1G team....:P......

2)Arky can't go because of the 2 BCS teams per conference limit...

3)Boise is interesting, and I think they may make a BCS game, but that doesn't have anything to do with a second B1G team getting a BCS bowl..... 4)the only downside they could have would be the fan base, and that would apply also to Kansas St......the fans both teams have are pretty damn awesome and true fans, and they will travel, just they don't have the longevity and numbers yet.

1) That's why I said the other teams I listed were more deserving, it was directed at the question about Michigan.

2) You're right.

3) "doesn't have anything to do with a second B1G team getting a BCS bowl"... ? I was talking about who deserves a BCS bid more than a second Big10 team, Boise is one of those teams.

4) Again, I'm not basing anything on how much money a fan base will bring to a bowl & it's city.

Doesn't mean that my opinions have to be as corrupted and greed based as the bowl committees.

I'll tell you what, I will be a happy man tomorrow night if Nebraska gets any matchup whatsoever against an SEC team.

Will we be the underdog?? Absolutely. But that's what I want. If we're gonna lose a game, I don't want it to be to a shitty team. I want a challenge to end the season dammit!

Very true....my cynicism wasn't meant to be directed towards you, but the bowl system as it is......and as it is does favor my team as we travel very, very well.

USCe has a really good defense, but I think Nebraska could give the a very good game.

Big Ten 'Bowl Selection Special' to air Sunday

For a fifth straight year, BTN will present the Big Ten Bowl Selection Special, with the 2011 edition at 7 PM CST Sunday night live from Chicago. Dave Revsine will host the show alongside Gerry DiNardo and Howard Griffith as they preview each Big Ten bowl matchup and discuss key post-season factors. Select coaches also will be interviewed during the 60-minute program. Winners of 10 games each this season, Michigan State, representing the Legends Division, and Wisconsin, representing the Leaders Division, will compete Saturday in the in the inaugural Big Ten Championship Game. The Spartans and Badgers look to claim the Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to represent the Big Ten in the Rose Bowl. Both earned a share of the conference title in 2010.Overall, the Big Ten saw 10 teams gain bowl eligibility, matching the conference record set in 2007 for most bowl berths in a single season. The 2011-12 bowl season marks the seventh straight year that seven or more Big Ten programs have earned postseason berths, the longest streak in conference history. In addition to the division champions, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue are poised to receive post-season invitations. For the second consecutive year, the Big Ten's postseason lineup features eight bowl tie-ins. In addition to the BCS Rose Bowl automatic bid, a Big Ten team may be selected as a BCS at-large participant if it has won at least nine regular-season games and is ranked among the top 14 teams in the final BCS standings.

I didn't realize the Cotton wouldn't take the loser of the SEC Championship game. I don't blame them if they take Arkansas over Georgia or South Carolina.

Can someone explain why the Capital One would take South Carolina over Georgia. Georgia seems to be a better opponent than South Carolina.

CBSsports has us in the Capital One Bowl vs. South Carolina....

College Football Bowls - CBSSports.com

These projections are probably as good as you can get without the knowledge of the final rankings. TCU has a decent shot at an automatic bid. I'm not sure if that will affect us, but TCU only has to jump 2 spots in the BCS. The voters will have alot to say about this. Remember when Colorado nearly got into the BCS Championship in 2001. Patterson, unlike Barnett, isn't lobbying for votes.

All speculation at this point, with a sprinkle of educated guesses
