They say if you watch a football game, you'll see something you've never seen before. Well that game certainly fit the bill. If they wanted to run down the clock and kick the field goal with only seconds remaining, fine, but why do a running play at all? Coastal Carolina had no timeouts remaining, just take a knee and run off 39 seconds. Then run another play and take a knee wherever the kicker wanted the ball to be when he kicked it. Then kick it.LIBERTY almost choked the "score/don't score" decision in the worst way possible
I don't think I have ever seen it unfold like that where one team does both decisions at the same time and screws it up.
Usually they either play for the FG or accidentally fall into the endzone for an unwanted Touchdown.
So get arky vs iowa....this isnt rocket scienceTexas Bowl Arky vs TCU has been cancelled. Da frogs got da Rona....
Found a video clip of the plays in question:They say if you watch a football game, you'll see something you've never seen before. Well that game certainly fit the bill. It was pretty bizarre to watch the runner standing in the open field not advancing and the defenders just looking at him until they realized that he wasn't going to score and the clock was ticking, so they finally tackled him. The next play was even more bizarre when the runner made the mistake of getting too close to the defenders who were trying to drag him INTO the end zone and the runner pushing backwards in order to keep from scoring. Then it got really weird when one of the Liberty linemen forgot the mission and tried to push the runner into the end zone, where the runner didn't want to go, which caused a fumble that CC recovered to send the game into overtime.
It was a good thing that Liberty won in OT, or it would have been a loooong ride home for Liberty, who almost succeeded in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
