I'm personally not all that impressed by the way Peterson "coaches up" his assistants. Which one has really excelled? I think the guy micromanages too much to be honest. He is a great coach but his assistants seem unprepared. Especially their first season away.

Last season, when OR St went to the Alamo Bowl against Texas, the announcers were talking about coach Riley having a house there in Texas and that made me wonder if there's something going on. The Beavs led the bowl game until late 4th qtr and the OR St coaches made no effort to adjust the offense to block Okafor from getting to Vaz. I hear that Mack (@Texas) is on the hot seat and ready to possibly retire. If so, coach Riley could possibly be thinking of going there to coach Texas, leaving the door open at OR St for coach Petersen from Boise St whom I think coaches a lot like Mike Riley.

LOL, I don't see Texas hiring a coach who hasn't won a conference title or national championship at this moment. Hell, nobody around here has even mentioned Mike Riley. It's Saban or another big name......

our offense was demolished with losses last year

this year it's the defense, we lost a lot of great players, then on top of that pretty much all the good ones we had left all got in trouble. I don't know if our offense is helping the defense out much either.

we should have a lot of starters back next year, but we might need to rethink this offense, it's starting to put up points at least, but I'm not bought on it

Texas isn't hiring him, so it's USC I guess. We had enough of the triple reverse pass plays with Harsin; that shit doesn't work in a big boy conference.....

Well a big factor in that is not only the level of competition you're facing but also the players that you're operating on offense with and I hate to break it to you but Harsin's offensive players at Texas fucking sucked compared to the studs he coached at Boise as in there is no comparison whatsoever. It's the exact same story for Brent Pease at Florida. His players on offense aren't nearly as good, not even close. Now that may make you angry as Texas fan. You may not like it, but it is the truth. You have to deal with it.

People said that about Urban Meyer's offense when he left Utah for Florida too.

Maybe, maybe not. On the flip side, anybody can look good in your weak as shit conference.....

Oh I'm with you 100% on that one. It is a dog shit conference but there are plenty of other dog shit conferences out there in the FBS. But really Boise could potentially finish as poorly as third in the Mountain Division. Not the MWC itself, just their division. That puts things in perspective in terms of just how bad things are right now. And again as you mentioned, the conference sucks, particularly this season. Hey, the Broncos aren't a very good team this year. They have fallen off dramatically. I can admit that. They are rebuilding and hopefully they will get better. Time will tell.

Surely you aren't comparing BSU NFL players to Longhorn NFL players, are you?

Yes. You would look foolish comparing the two, particularly when you consider Texas' history of putting players into the league.

What I will say though is that most, not all, but most of Harsin's offensive starters and even some back ups when he was there from 2006 through 2010 made or are currently on NFL rosters. Same with Pease's starters for his one year as OC in 2011. Want me to name them? It's a long list. Those teams had some damn good players. Some straight up studs. Those days are gone and over with now, but that's the point I was trying to make earlier.

Let's discuss some things here.

1. I've been a BSU fan through a bunch of coaches. They've pretty much ALWAYS been good. They were good before Chris Petersen, and they'll be good if he ever leaves. Don't believe me? Study history.

2. We love Coach Pete here in Boise, but if some desperate school comes along with huge bags of money, I'm certainly not going to say never. Anyone would have trouble saying no to multiplied millions. But the siren's song of money isn't what folks think it is. Boise is more than a head coach, it is a program that goes deeper. Look at what happened to those coaches who won in Boise, but couldn't elsewhere. The fact is that Chris Petersen is a millionaire many times over in Boise, and the cost of living is low here. His wife can go to the grocery store without a police escort and he doesn't have to live in a gated estate surrounded by bodyguards like he would in LA or some other big time place.

3. Boise is ambitious. They started out as a church school, then became a junior college, then division 2, then 1aa, then Division One. And the original coach, Lyle Smith, is still alive, 97 years young. Even then they've gone from the Big Sky to the Big West to the WAC to the MWC, the Big East (that one busted) and back again. They aren't done, the ultimate goal is the PAC 12, but that's not happening soon.

4. You bet, Boise isn't where we fans want it to be....yet. But stay tuned, we are working on it. If you don't like it, grow a pair. Have YOUR wonderful school come to Boise. Let's see how you do.

Peace.

Boise needs to grow a pair and join a bigger, more prestigious conference. Otherwise they won't be respected the way they should.

90% success directly= to the easy ass conference they've played in.

Look at, as smile likes to say, the history. Their coaches goes other places and they don't have near the success. TCU and Utah, very similar programs in stature, can't win shit now that they have weekly contests. Talk all you want but it is the truth. Boise4life telling a Texas fan the coach doesn't have the players he had a Boise. Are you shitting me? Give me a break!!!

Oh geez, why didn't we EVER think of that one? It's easy, right, just pick up the phone, and we'd be in the B1G tomorrow. I mean, it's like ordering pizza, super easy.:noidea:

What in the hell do you think the school has been doing? Every year, Boise is looking for a better fit. They've changed conferences more often than some Ohio State fans change their game day t-shirts.

But hey, since you got such a brilliant idea, let's do it. Where do we sign up?

I know it sounds crazy, but ask Harsin himself which school had the better offensive players while was their OC. If he was being honest, I guaranty he would say that Boise did while he was there. Stack them up on paper and just look at them. It's not even close.

And yes Boise sucks balls this season. Yes the step up in competition is a major factor in the discussion, but I'm telling you he had studs to work with on offense when he was there and I don't care what you say, that most certainly was a huge factor too as to why he had so much success at Boise.
