I guess it's safe to say MacKinnon & Drouin are going to light up the Q this year. Drouin was my sleeper for the 2013 draft. I thought maybe he'd be overlooked because of all they hype surrounding MacKinnon. I was obviously wrong.

Speaking of prospects, Senators 1st rounder and Ottawa 67s blueliner Cody Ceci had 4 assists in his season opening loss to the Barrie Colts.

Looking like a lock for a 200 point season from the blueline.

Projected top 3 pick Sean Monahan with a pathetic 3 point effort for the 67s. He'll be lucky to go in the first round!!!

If the Flames get the No. 1 pick (I don't think they will), I would pick MacKinnon. Flames really need the help down the middle.

Yeah, neither is so far ahead of the pack that you HAVE to take him regardless of specific needs.

Same with the Jackets. I have come to accept the Murray pick, even if Yakupov, Grigorenko and Galchenyuk would all look better right now.

But the Jackets can't pick any more D men in round one. 3 forwards this year, no matter what.
