What pattern irule... because we lost?

The fact that we are hard pressed to handle a QB that has wheels is not a pattern... it is lack of talent at positions needed to control that aspect.

The fact is... that anything that could go wrong... did go wrong today!

Not taking anything away from Mich as they played well... There were massive swing plays that were there to be had... we did not capitalize on them... INT's, Stone handed receivers, screwed up special teams plays, and a few calls that were questionable at best...

Motivation as you call it (Emotion) is not what wins a game... talent does along with execution of what they are supposed to be doing... Yes, motivation can amp you up to play extra hard for a period of time... but if you not equiped to handle the task at hand with the right tools, it makes it tough...

Plus, (New league, new teams)...

I am as pissed as anyone about what happened today... but I also seen this team for what it was 12 weeks ago... and that was a team that could have 4-5 or even 6 losses this year... < Sadly; This is what our imfamous Jed has preached about some of the posters here... thinking we will win every game because we have 17 and 18 yr olds... sign letters of intent that have 3 - 4-5 stars...

I have no idea why Bo does what he does... as for bad games... shit happens... Go ask TO how many times we got beat by lessor teams prior to our glory years... teams we should have blasted off the map...

When Tom Osborne took over back in the day, we were a decent program........but Tom Osborne eventually turned it from a decent program into a premier program.........and now that we are a premier program, expectations are higher than 9 and 10 win seasons.

At the worst, we should make it to a BCS bowl game every other year. Shit they almost take 2 teams from each of the top 3 major conferences every year.........and we can't even get ourselves up to that level.

I made no excuses JJM... maybe we are just not as talented of a team as we all hoped.... and many herein projected...

Colorado was a decent program once. Look at them now. Playing at the elite level is not easy, but NU is close to that level again, and moving in the right direction.

I honestly think the reason Osborne retired is because he foreseen the parity in college football coming and didn't want to deal with it.

Right now, Northwestern is a more respectable loss than to Iowa State or Texas Tech. But yes, losses like that will happen. It just can't be year after year

That's my point. Every year under Bo we've had a loss or more like that. And we get completely blown out by a team we shouldn't EVERY YEAR.
