As it has been stated several times, it's not the fact that we're losing games.......it's the fact that we're not even competitive. In yesterday's game, I saw no sense of urgency or leadership from one single player out there. We have some issues in that department IMO.

That's something that really irks me. I can't believe I'm saying this, but we need a Tim Tebow. Taylor needs to be in everyone's faces on the sideline saying "I am not letting us go down like this." He will never be that guy.

By no means do I think Taylor was the problem yesterday, but the question of his leadership is something I think is reasonable to discuss.

i wonder if bo being told by osborne to cool his temper is effecting the players. think back to 09...yes there was the iowa state and tech games. but even in the iowa state game, after NINE turnovers...we were still in a position to win.

i wonder if TO telling him to cool it is leading to him being able to not motivate his players as well as he used to be able to?

just a thought

No, a 9 win season isn't mediocre.......I agree with that.

To me, we are no better than Iowa State this season.

JJM; I am not trying to pick on you personally but using this as an example <-many husker fans here are the same way...(see your quote a few weeks ago!)...

So... your thoughts above are correct but below they are not?

I. State better than #11 MSU?

This is what I mean... when things are great..(wins) Bo is God... but when we fuck up... they suck...

Sad how that works...

Michigan State DID NOT come into that game flat as everyone is saying they did . We fucking crushed them, because we are getting better, and we are THAT good.

Well it's what everyone wanted to believe BRS. But we have all come crashing back down to earth. Everyone has put down the kool aid. We're all just venting our frustrations. I don't see anything wrong with that.

also, the defense has been in position most of the time and Bo can't tackle them himself. I'm sure he is itching to go out there and hit someone. But there are alot of missed tackles.

I have heard a lot about the whole competitive thing & that is good and all, I am not going to bark up that tree again but think about this for a second...what if we had lost 4 games this year & they were all by a possession? Wouldn't we be bitching about that too? Not saying, hey we're alright! We're right in these games guys! We only lost by 6 to Wisconsin, 4 to Ohio State, 3 to Northwestern & 2 to Michigan!

A loss is a loss, whether its by 4 or 40 points, it only counts as 1 notch in the right hand column.

I call bullshit on anyone that says they wouldn't be bitching, I can only imagine what you all were saying after the Oklahoma game in the little 12 championship game & the Texas championship games...I was the same way.

Bo has made me proud to be a Husker fan this season, and seasons past. It would be nice if he was infallible and all knowing, and won every game, but he's still learning.

Not slinging any stones, just want to set this out there. I've seen enough of the other to balance this.

Watching the win over Rhode Island right now too on BTN. Dr. Tom came on. He was "very pleased" with the Big Ten. Me too.

R_A, I have a lot of respect for what you have to say on here but honestly I don't give one iota if you think I am full of shit or not. I was responding to a post that inferred we should be happy with a championship every 23 years. It doesn't matter how we got there it's that we got there and we got there a lot. So why should we be happy to wait 23 years for a couple of good years?

As for how old I am I am 50 years old and I grew up a Husker. I remember the offensive lines, I remember the I-backs and I remember the teams that competed.

I am also full aware who was in the Big 8 and I also know the teams Nebraska fielded. It was top heavy but there was competition in the lower ranks also. Missouri, Okie Lite and Colorado fielded many good teams. Iowa State was always good for an upset.

So you can bad mouth the Big 8 all you want to to try to make today's Huskers comparable to yesteryear but I guess I'll just say I don't believe the shit I am reading. Pelini has not yet come close to any of those teams. He has had a good defense with a horrible offense and he has has an average offense with a deplorable defense. There is nothing here for him to hang his hat on yet and anyone who is not a Husker faithful will quickly point that out to you but when a Husker points it out it is shit.

As for the Orange bowl yeah we had a losing record in the Orange bowl. It was a thorn in Osborne's side that he addressed by making the bowl trips more of a business trip then a pleasure trip. This seemed to work but he backed off it because the bowl trips after all are a reward for the players hard work throughout the year. So yeah when Florida speed came up against Nebraska brawn we often lost but you know what? Look at the records. Not only did we make it to the game we competed. Remember that shit you read from me that we are missing?

And yes all you had to do was win your conference but then what do you have to do to get in the Rose? And how many times has a 3 loss team gone to the Rose?

Now I am pissed how this year went because Bo ranted about this defense before the year. Yes Bo not the fans but Bo set the expectations with a defense that "might be his best yet" and a quarterback that "not only can run but he is passing too and passing well"

He set the expectations, he was excited about this seasson. Any yes I know he is dissapointed also but you know what? He makes damn good money to field a team that competes. I understand that we are not going to fire him and I do not want to. I will not accept mediocrity though and if that is shit to you then deal with it becaue I am not going to come on here and say
"Well gee whiz guys, they did really stink today but look at last week. Wasn't that a good game."

I guess though if nothing else we could always rely on chants to make the games interesting.

For those of you using the "Tom had lots of 9-3 seasons too" argument:

In 25 years of coaching Tom only lost by 27 or more 3 times. Pelini has lost by 28 or more 4 times in his first 4 seasons. Now I'm not saying pelini should be as great as Tom. That's damn near impossible. Im just saying that argument about Tom being average for a while is BS. And again it's not about the losses it's about being competitive and HOW those losses have happened

To get it fixed or gtfo. These are his guys. This is his team. Win or lose your job. It's that simple.

Osborne says it's a matter of at least being competitive. This team aint competitive.

Even though I've been critical of Bo and quite a few of his decisions especially during games, continually going through coaching changes would keep our team down possibly for decades. Would you like that to happen?
