Bo has one more year IMO

Whats up fellas.....new here long time reader big time Nebraska fan.

I think the biggest indictment on bo is this. 4 yrs here and outside of the year 1 his coaching has been average at best. He did take over a bad program but look at what Hoke has done in Michigan. Mich is already back and better then us in 1 season. They will only improve as they will recruit and get more talent.
Yesterday killed me watching that mess just as it did against NW and Wini. Please dont compare him to Dr. Tom. Dang KSU is better then us right now. Bo is a coordinator not a HC. Im not expecting 12-0 every year, what I am expecting is for us to be able to compete with anyone anyday. We should have hired Frost as OC because Beck has know clue on how to even freakin use a screen play. Our best AThletes our are RBs and we cant even get green and abdullah touches. And where is Turner my GOD. sorry long post lol i just dont see us turning the corner. One more thing about Bo, if he was so good why isnt Ohio St calling.

Exactly. This is the main source of my frustration. We haven't even been competitive in our losses this season. (If people think losing a close game to northwestern is competitive then their perspective is out of wack)

We win championships every 23 years or so, then win them in groups. Seems to me Nebraska is right on schedule with that time line. If you would EVER put down your red drank and really look at what is going on in Lincoln your thinking might improve.

I am not saying we should be happy about the loss gents... but again...I believe the difference is... I was prepared for it as well as other potential losses this year... I guess my glasses are not as tinted as others are wearing these days... and although I think Bo is a solid coach, he has a lot to learn to get to the point where he is accepted by all... hell who knows.. Maybe he will never get there...

Does not mean I would not love to be 11 - 0 right now and it doesn't mean I like losing by 30pts to the likes of Wisc or Mich... but it's also not something I can personally change...

It is what it is... go ahead... carry on with the bitterness... I recognize the reasons you feel this way... but I also temper my expectations with realism...

Yes; the loss yesterday ruined my day and weekend... but as of this afternoon... the focus has to be on next week...

We may only win National Championships every 20+ years but.....

Between 1963 and 1995 we won 20 Big 8 Championships. That is over 2 out of every 3 years.

We won 2 Big 12 Championships between 1996 and 2000. That is every other year.

Between 1968 and 1998 we were in the Orange Bowl (conference equivalent of BCS bowl) 18 times. That is more than every other year.

So yeah maybe we only won National Championships every 20 or so years but we contended every year for 30 years. This wasn't just the 90's either and it wasn't after Osborne had been in the position for 5 or 10 years. It was from the beginning of the Osborne era til the beginning of the Solich era.

rant continued. I can not and will not except the mediocrity of Nebraska football in the last decade. If that is what we are supposed to be happy with I will be a Northwestern fan. At least they play with heart.

Pretty disappointed with the showing at the Big House and i also wonder

what the hell is goin on sometimes .

That being said I am not going to press the panic button yet.

Bo has shown that he can fire the team up for games and he WILL right

the ship. We ve only lost three games this year in a new conference where

everyone is tryin to prove to us how tough the B1G is.

Bo is relatively new to head coaching and Im pretty excited to see where he

takes us. I sure as hell dont want to be like a Texas or Ohio St that fires a

winning coach (Machovich,Cooper) because they dont go undefeated.

Nebraska has made huge strides since Bo took over and I expect more of the

same. JMO

I can't believe some of the shit I'm reading here. How old are some of you anyway? You can't compare the Orange Bowl of yester-year to today. The Big 8 champ went regardless of record. How many times did Nebraska get owned in Orange Bowls even when they were playing for NC's? Hate to break it to you but the Big 8 was the little 6 +2.

Devaney and Osborne went 6-4 in 1967 and 1968.
Osborne took over one of the hottest teams in the land in 1973 and went...

Nebraska has not been mediocre since Pelini's been here. Pelini took over a program that was on it's ass.

2004 5-6 = Mediocre
2007 5-7 = Mediocre

Keep in mind the scholly parity and the number of distractions these kids have today compared to 20 years ago.

I figured between 2 and 4 losses this year depending how the ball bounced a couple of games.

All things considered, I'll be satisfied w/ another 9 win season. That is NOT mediocre.

No, a 9 win season isn't mediocre.......I agree with that.

But when your losses include 30 point blowouts to teams that you should be able to at least compete with for more than 1 quarter......then yes, that is mediocre.

I hate to say it, but if we were in the Big 12 this year, I could see us losing to the following teams: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Baylor.......and possibly Iowa State and Missouri.

To me, we are no better than Iowa State this season.
