It's not a talent issue. Not at all. Nebraska has gotten plenty of the 4-star athletes that everyone likes to slobber over in the past few years. I'm not taking a ride in that boat.

I think its motivation. They dont play with the same intensity from play to play.

Welcome aboard, sir!

Play around, and feel the place out.. It's great fun on most all the boards.

No, a 9 win season isn't mediocre.......I agree with that.

But when your losses include 30 point blowouts to teams that you should be able to at least compete with for more than 1 quarter......then yes, that is mediocre.

I hate to say it, but if we were in the Big 12 this year, I could see us losing to the following teams: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Baylor.......and possibly Iowa State and Missouri.

To me, we are no better than Iowa State this season.

You don't know that. Nebraska is getting the smack down because they are not physical enough for this conference. They were built for the Big 12 and who has the Big 12 beaten?

Listen, here's the thing. Bo Pelini is more passionate than any of us even know about. The guy probably wants to cry when we lose, I can definitely see the pain in his face when we lose these games.

He is a young coach. It IS his fault that we are not prepared to play in these games. He knows that, and he admits it every time. He is gonna have to grow and learn, and we're all just gonna have to be patient.

As of right now, he is not the greatest Head Coach in the world. If he is willing to keep learning and making changes (which I think he is), then he should become a great coach........because he has that drive to get better that I don't see in a lot of coaches.

Yes, our offensive and defensive lines are both getting knocked around up front.

Maybe its good we lose a few games to get a fire lit underneath us if that helps

losing to whiskey lit a fire for a little.

that fire went out and we lost to northwester...which lit a fire

so we went out and beat penn state, then lost to michigan.

the problem isn't lighting that fire, its sustaining it after a win....

Nebraska's not physical. When you're getting pushed around you're gonna make mistakes like holding, false starts, delay of game, personal fouls.

As it has been stated several times, it's not the fact that we're losing games.......it's the fact that we're not even competitive. In yesterday's game, I saw no sense of urgency or leadership from one single player out there. We have some issues in that department IMO.

If we lost 4 games by reasonable margins, this wouldn't be as much of an issue. But Wisconsin and Michigan are only decent teams..........they aren't top 5 material. Both of these teams beat us with ease and pleasure.

These are Bo's first wave of players when he first took over the job. He was moving the pieces of the puzzle to salvage what he could. And everyone knows some recruits don't pan out the way they're hyped. Before you criticize his recruiting, give a few more years. He is putting up good class's, but some of these kids are just freshman. Look at Callahan's 05 class....majority of them sucked until their hidden talent appeared in 08 and 09. These kids on the team are young...

I think our problem is the coaching staff surrounding Bo. In 08 and 09 Bo was active with the defense, he was hands on. Now if you look at the sideline he is hands off which is making Carl Pelini look like the the problem. Bo is rolling into the HC position he was hired for. Honestly, we need to make a lot of moves, maybe wipe the slate clean. A lot of people on this staff are there because of friendship rather than actual coaching. Cotton shouldn't be an OLine coach, Raymond needs to go, etc etc

Problem is he just hired Raymond. Still, I don't see anything wrong with him telling the guy it just ain't working out. Sanders getting caught with a hooker was the biggest blow this program has taken in four years. :L

It's a catch 22 hiring people who you are so close with. It would just be downright awkward firing Cotton with his boys still on the team.

It's honesty shocking how a lot of us just shrugged off that Sanders getting fired incident. I 'll admit it, I shrugged it off. I thought we would be fine without him. Turns out we were wrong, he was one of the best if not the best assistant coach we had on the staff.
