the problem is..i don't know if its a talent issue or a motivation issue for these losses
No, a 9 win season isn't mediocre.......I agree with that.
But when your losses include 30 point blowouts to teams that you should be able to at least compete with for more than 1 quarter......then yes, that is mediocre.
I hate to say it, but if we were in the Big 12 this year, I could see us losing to the following teams: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Baylor.......and possibly Iowa State and Missouri.
To me, we are no better than Iowa State this season.
and wish chuck a happy 12th birthday next week.
Maybe its good we lose a few games to get a fire lit underneath us if that helps
These are Bo's first wave of players when he first took over the job. He was moving the pieces of the puzzle to salvage what he could. And everyone knows some recruits don't pan out the way they're hyped. Before you criticize his recruiting, give a few more years. He is putting up good class's, but some of these kids are just freshman. Look at Callahan's 05 class....majority of them sucked until their hidden talent appeared in 08 and 09. These kids on the team are young...
I think our problem is the coaching staff surrounding Bo. In 08 and 09 Bo was active with the defense, he was hands on. Now if you look at the sideline he is hands off which is making Carl Pelini look like the the problem. Bo is rolling into the HC position he was hired for. Honestly, we need to make a lot of moves, maybe wipe the slate clean. A lot of people on this staff are there because of friendship rather than actual coaching. Cotton shouldn't be an OLine coach, Raymond needs to go, etc etc
