This also goes back to me thinking the student section shouldn't be in one area.......

rather have 8-10 student sections spread throughout the stadium.......

memorialStadium_tn_Seating_Chart.gif

For example- instead of having them in 11, 12, 13....... 7 blocks( not really sure how large the student section is- but just go with me)

Give them the bottom part of 13, bottom part of 18, bottom part of 23, bottom part of 28, bottom part of 34, bottom part of 38, bottom part of 3, bottom part of 7........ Still 7 blocks of seating- approx the same amount of seats- but the sound would be more spread out.......

Or if I was AD........... I would have them in the bottom half of 23-29.... west stadium.......... :D

I don't get the chance to go to many games there but it makes sense. Are there other schools that do this you say?

HH, I like your idea, but I like the idea of having the entire stadium be the student section better :D

I just want to know if any students are being denied tickets because of the blue hairs.

My grandma loved the Huskers, but once she got too old to be loud - she was just happy watching them from her couch.

A couple of years ago they moved the student section to the back of South Stadium.

I haven't been to a game since they did this, but they probably sound like their own little away crowd up there in the end-zone cheap seats.

This is also f'ed up IMO

"The famed Husker tunnel walk also moved in 2006 and now emerges onto the field from the north stadium under section 33."

That's where the visiting team used to enter the field. That is also a blue hair section where I had the old lady yelling SIT DOWN, SIT DOWN, SIT DOWN non-stop. It's the section that used to stay and cheer the opposing team when they left the field win or lose.

They need to put the Student Section above where the Huskers enter the field, not a bunch of blue hairs.

The students are now as far away as they can be in sections 12, 13, 14

A&M has it on on side of the stadium from about the G to around the 50 yard line. and they get loud as fuck.

When I went to UNL I loved the student section and sitting there its a lot of fun and its awesome they never sit down. I think they should move it to the North Stadium, I liked it better there. I am not sure about creating several sections. When I was a student it was more or less general admission people would just stand where ever and squeze in. if it was in different areas people could not sit together unless there seats were together. But that is just my opinion.

I have season tickets in the West Stadium now and you are right about the Blue Hairs they can get irritated sometimes.

I wonder if people realize that cupping their hands around their mouth to direct their voice toward the field actually makes a big difference. I swear 9 out of 10 people are always just standing there yelling up into the sky when the camera shows the crowd. It's the megaphone effect people.......damn! Get with it already

The best way to clear out the blue hairs is to put the students in the front rows because as mentioned before, the blue hairs hate standing at the games. In fact, you'd swear the blue hairs are actually sitting on their hands all game long. The TV stations are getting on Bo today about his comment on the fans. Some fans around here can criticize Bo, but these same fans can't take a comment criticizing them. Yes I know, it's the same fans that were middle aged in 1962! There should be two new rules at Nebraska. First, only the young, and loud are allowed attend the night games. Second, all home football games are night games!

See that's actually the way it was before.........and Dr. Tom didn't like that and he moved the old folk down front. Of course those old folk below the student section aren't even a fraction of the problem..........the problem is that 90% of the season ticket holders are very old people. And a lot of them sit mid-field 20 rows up in great seats and they just sit there and clap.

I heard today that Tom Osborne called out the fans back in 1986.............they said the following week was pretty damn loud and they never really saw a dropoff after that in the fans.

Startin to wonder if Tom told Bo to say somethin.........I know Tom is constantly talking about how he wants the fans to be loud.

something else that T.O. probably had in mind in moving the student section is that many of the older folks are also alumni that make very generous donations to the University and wanted the rowdy students moved up out of sight. I'm sure the move was more for political reasons that outweighed the overall crowd noise factor.
