Hawks get Michael Frolik and Alexander Salak, Panthers get Jack skille, Hugh Jessiman, and David Pacan.
Hopefully Jack Skille does more with more playing time here.
I hope so too, I really like Jack Skille and wish him well. Also I don't want this to completely backfire on Tallon. Though to be fair the last time I thought Tallon got fleeced in a treade he ended up with Patrick Sharp.
His first offseason is enough to show me that he knows what he's doing, and I'm not going to be overly concerned.
He got Mike Santorelli for basically nothing, Mike Weaver for basically nothing, Marty Reasoner for basically nothing, etc. I think he knows what he's doing.
I know people are going to like Frolik's #'s and everything, but fact is, he's really sucked this year. In his last 23 games, he's scored zero goals, and has been a -6. In the last 14 games, he's been a -10.
The Panthers need to get rid of a lot of guys.
A lot of these Panther draft picks over the years have been incredibly overrated. I've actually told people not to get excited before, but, for some reason, it's not believable.
The Panthers have had a tendency of drafting guys with some talent who just don't care.
People were expecting Horton to become a 40-goal scorer after the Panthers traded him. Instead, he's just the same floater he's always been.
Same thing with Bouwmeester. His numbers were always deceiving; he was terribly inconsistent, and never really showed the great skills to be an offensive D man.
It's the same thing with Frolik. He's actually been getting 1st line minutes here, and does nothing with them. He'll put up #'s (50-60 points probably, as he improves) over the course of a year, but he's really inconsistent putting them up. He's been inconsistent his whole career, and he has a tendency to become soft in games.
Also, Blackhawks fans think this guy is a center, and he's clearly not.
Skille is a better fit for the Panthers. Has almost as many goals as Frolik this year actually in a lot less ice time. He's also bigger and (sounds like) more physical than Frolik, which is something the Panthers desperately need. On top of the fact that this team has trouble scoring, they're incredibly small and soft.

Blackhawks just got their future #1 goalie. Salak is a monster waiting to happen.
Unless if he significantly improved this year over in Sweden, there's no way in hell.
The guy came up for a couple of games last year, and he looked like an absolute joke.
A guy who looks ridiculously small in net/has the most unorthodox style I have ever seen. He's the king of flopping; I don't even think he bothers to try to keep track of the puck. As soon as he sees someone's ready to shoot, he's going down.
Also, I don't know what to believe on Skille. Some fans say that they're glad he's gone; others say that he's the hardest worker on a Blackhawks team that has had a Stanley Cup hangover for a large portion of the year.
Whatever it is, he's the Panthers new 1st line RW.

Before the season, he was rated only slightly below Markstrom, which is saying something. And he's got a sparkling 2.04 GAA and .925 sv% for Färjestad this year. I'd be more inclined to believe the stats from the last 4 years than a 2 game cup of coffee on the worst team in the league.
Markstrom's a much better prospect than Salak. It's not even close. There's a significant age difference; Markstrom's arguably the best goalie prospect in the world today.
Salak has an unorthodox style that I don't see doing well here in NA. He couldn't even out-play Tyler Plante down the stretch last year in the AHL to earn a spot with the Amerks this year.
whats going on this year for him? ... the numbers arent there especially when compare him to his former backup Eddie Lack
