I think Jackson is done. Isn't he about 32 already? That is ancient for a RB. Dallas won't panic, they'll see what they've got with the three RB's that have already gone through training camp and 3 preseason games. No need to bring an old guy who doesn't know the system with only a couple weeks until the first game.

I still think he has something left in the tank. Sure he is 32 and has gotten beaten up but he hasn't been that injury prone has he?

I don't buy the fact the Jimmy doesn't want Jackson... He will always be "in" imo

He's actually 34.

The fact that the Bills cut him tells you A LOT of where he is physically considering how banged up their RB corp is right now. Essentially a hurt Bryce Brown (out with hammy) beat him out.

He's 34 and not productive. The Cowboys already have a roster full of non-productive RBs...don't think they need to add to that stable.

Fred Jackson at 32 though hasn't had the beating that many his age usually have. He has always been on a team where they like to split up the carries. His most carries in a season was something like 237. Only once in the last 4 years has he had more than 200 carries and that was 206 so I think he has plenty of tread left on the tires to do well.

Jackson's line from the last preseason game:

Fred Jackson 5 carries, 48 yards, 9.6 yards/carry, 1 TD, 41 Long

Fred Jackson's stats last season:

McFadden's stats last season:

If McFadden is worth a look, so is Jackson IMO.

OK, 34 is even worse. Plus he has been banged up quite a bit in the last couple seasons. The only reason Buffalo probably kept him around this long is because he's such a fan favorite there. Other teams don't have the nostalgia that the Bills had with him.

They could use this though...

He had 66 receptions last season, he can still catch the ball. Plus.....most of his career he was part of a platoon. He can still play.

Fred Jackson was the heart and soul of the Bills but they want to win now. He's going somewhere for sure. I mean, I can totally see the Titans signing him, not using him, misusing him and/or abusing him before alienating him and cutting him like a steaming pile of dog doo-doo but hey! that's just me! :noidea:

If I were the Raiders.....I'd cut Richardson and bring in Jackson.
