We reluctantly talk the Minnesota game, Mo Washington, and Indiana

Glad to see you address the lack of a downfield passing aspect (>20 yds) of the offense.
I thought I was going crazy being the only one wondering why they don't keep opposing defenses honest.
It don't take much of a defensive coordinator to make Nebraska's offense struggle to move the ball. Add in the fact that Nebraska stands a good chance of Nebraska's offense shooting itself in the foot anyway and you've got disaster.

Regarding Washington. It won't be long before he loses NCAA eligibility to play anyway. Being in Cali means he's not 'playing school'. This isn't Christmas break.

Yeah when 64.9% of your passes are within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage it is tough to stretch the field and spread out the defenses.

We can't give Frost the excuse of inheriting a group of bad players with poor work ethic etc. without affording every coordinator and position coach the same excuses.

May the best QB win the job. Whomever it is, I don't see much overall improvement unless they have a QB mindset. Put all the talent in the world out there, but 50% of the position is in the noggin.

I got so tired of them throwing the ball sideways.

Two things...

1) The receivers weren't blocking to par on them. I would think a guy like Frost would know the importance of good blocking receivers. He didn't run T.O.'s triple option successfully without receivers blocking. They blocked better than they caught.
2) Nebraska wasn't stretching the field. It seemed like there were 11 defenders within 8 yards of the line of scrimmage every play. If they want to play that sideways stuff then we're back to #1 with the receivers needing to be more physical.

Watching the national championship game, both LSU and Clemson went over the top, over the top, over the top.

That over the top also opened up their running games.

Yeah, we only threw the ball 20+ yards in the air down field 52 times all year. Only completed 51.9% of them. So its not like we were successful when we did. But when you throw twice as many passes at or behind the line of scrimmage (106 times) as you do downfield the defense isn't scared of you at all and you find yourself playing in a small box than you need to and are not able to get the players in space like we want to do.
