A small part of me actually wanted Xavier to win so somebody else from the Big East could get a #1 seed.

But I'll take it!

I never understand why a school like Xavier with zero accolades to speak of always try to fight someone or talk all the time. And they're the luckiest team according to Kenpom.

Hopefully them along with their fans can finally be quiet for once. Man what a garbage program...

- Still down in the all-time head-to-head series by more than 15 games.

- They did win the NIT tournament after World War II I think ( not really sure or care ). So that's a thing.

A for effort though. Xavier will get there. Someday

Cincy has certainly been the better program historically, but X is better right now. Slightly better.

Cincy hasn't had any of those things for a while either. Another program that was hurt by the dissolution of the Big East.

Cincy hasn't had any of those things for a while either. Another program that was hurt by the dissolution of the Big East.

Yea exactly. I get there's a rivalry between the 2 schools but I wouldn't go as far as calling Xavier a garbage program when they been the better program for the last 15 years or so....especially when your school been the "garbage" program since the start of the century.

Cincy has made it to the 2nd weekend of the tourney one time since 1996.

People put way too much stock in the results of a single loss elimination tournament. No cares about anything unless you make the Final Four. There is zero difference between losing in the Round of 32 and losing in the Sweet 16.

I would much rather go 28-7 (14-4) and lose in the Round of 32 tham go 24-12 (10-8) and lose in the Sweet 16*

* assuming the conference strengths are near the same
