Board votes to withhold 25% of future revenue from Baylor pending review of athletics changes.

I'm curious what that equates out to. I mean there is not a BigXII Network to withhold proceeds from. I didn't see mention of it in the article.

It would have been 6mm last year and will be more this year.

About time

All the other schools were calling for the league to do what the Weaklings at the NCAA would not do.

Baylor brings down the entire league, hurts revenues and recruiting simply by association.

9 schools HATE that place and everything about it.

I wanted them to kick Baylor out of the damn league, but this is at least something.

About $8 million from what I read.

When you think about what they did, its not much of a punishment

This won't mean much in the end. It might give some of the conference president's a warm fuzzy feeling that "we are doing something, damn it!" but it will turn out to be nothing after Baylor eventually conforms to some changes. Bowlsby doesn't have the spine to just say "Fuck you, Baylor, that money is gone forever because of what you're already put this conference through. And you are out of this conference altogether if you don't clean up your act pronto". Someday Bowlsby will let them have every penny that is going to be withheld now. Book it. No balls.

Of course. As long as the independent,, 3rd party reviewers find enough evidence of significant changes to the athletics departments.

Nobody really has the stomach to discipline another school because one day, it might be YOUR program on the other side of the scrutiny

If they truly want to hurt Baylor then shut down the brothels.

How many schollies in that sport? My son's pretty good with a backhand toss
At Michigan State, none. Wisconsin has one a year though. They have a relatively huge endowment for an ultimate frisbee team. And the Hodags have a pretty cool logo.

And they got Natties on Platters galore

In 2016

Big 12 paid out 268 million for the fiscal year 2015

26.8 per team

25% of 26.8 = 6.7 million

Legal expenses
2013 $1,000,000
2014 $400,000
2015 $1,400,000
2016 is unknown at this time

Assuming that Baylor's Rights and Licenses and Ticket Sales revenue mirrors Iowa State(lowest in the Big 12)

Guessing for 2016, Baylor will make $27,000,000 in rights and licenses and $14,000,000 for ticket sales.

Total $41,000,000

My guesstimate is $48,500,000 but Baylor is losing 25% so that is $41,000,000 minus their legal expenses. I am sure Ken Starr is doing it pro bono for them. HA not a chance. He is a Baptist but he is a money grubbing, scumbag lawyer.
