whats more important? A slogan or getting in the playoffs? I think it is the later.

That's the bet the B12 made, and in the end it didn't matter because the Committee passed up both schools (plus they ranked Baylor ahead of TCU in the final rankings anyhow).

Just seems like if your slogan is gonna be one true champ, you'd better make damn sure you label one team the true champ...especially when they have the head to head win. Wouldn't have mattered on the naming or awards though, because it seems the committee was gonna pass them both with Ohio State anyhow.

Not needed at this point.

I and others have said this: one of the Power 5 leagues had to be left out of a four-team playoff. It just happened to be the one that doesn't have a CCG. If Ohio State had lost on Saturday, we'd be hearing all about how CCG's penalize a good team that should have already punched their playoff ticket without playing an unnecessary game (and possibly a rematch to boot).

The playoffs people (aka, Larry Culpepper) saw this coming and are most likely prepared to expand from 4 teams to 6 or 8 in the next couple of years. Contracts can be re-worked, and changes are coming within the next year or two as to how leagues decide their champions.

I think we can comfortably say the Ohio State team seen in game 2 and the current team aren't the same.

The CCG worked out great for Ohio State, almost killed Florida State. I guess there's a give and take with it. The commissioner's choice to do co-champs was pretty epically dumb though.

Maybe, maybe not. It's not that difficult to look good in a very weak conference (refer to Boise all those years). That's all I'm saying. If tOSU is indeed a different team, they should have no problem competing against Bama........

It was a tossup decision and no matter who the committee chose, they would have been both right and wrong.

Ah, so what was the deciding factor all else being equal?

...especially when they have the head to head win.

TCU wasn't the team in week whatever when they lost to Baylor as they are now though.

See?

Baylor's non conference schedule

TCU's was comparable to tOSU's and they beat their "quality" OOC opponent....and they beat a common opponent (Minnesota) more convincingly.

The fact of the matter is that TCU got the shaft from a selection committee that picked Ohio State only because of their reputation. What a shame.

the problem was tcu wasn't going to jump Baylor due to the head to head matchup. so it came down to Baylor and ohio st. Baylor's non conference schedule sealed their fate

:bullshit:

Had TCU taken care of business & not given up 61 points in a loss to Baylor the Frogs would have won the Big XII outright & gotten that 4 spot. So no TCU did not get the shaft.

I love this logic. Lets delve into it

TCU deserved to be out of the playoffs, because it lost on a last second FG to a top 5 team on the road. OSU deserved to be in the playoffs, because they lost at home to a 6-6 team.

Yes, that makes a lot of sense

Giving up 61 pts to the #5 team at their house and losing on a last second FG > than getting spanked by a 6-6 unranked weak ACC team at your house. However, Baylor got the shaft, not TCU

Ohio State won their conference crown outright, TCU did not. Or am I making shit up?

Hey don't be pissed at Ohio State for getting that # 4 spot. By pissed @ the committee for putting them in there.

the fact of the matter is the committee didn't recognize tcu as the big 12 champs.
