The surrender strategy to stave off impending doom is OFFICIAL.
Let everyone join. Make them 10% members. Charge 15% from the Networks.
Grab a few extra thousand buck before turning off the lights and scattering to the winds.

The Big 12 isn't even really denying this is an attempt to grab as much cash as possible before failure.

KU might want to give the Big 10 a fruitbasket and show them the basketball trophies.
WVU can start groveling to play for a discount in the ACC.

The rest of the schools can schedule a Mountain West vs. Big Conference 12 USA challenge in 2020.

Wow Big 12 to expand by a possible +4

Boise State
BYU
Cincinnati
Colorado State
Connecticut
Houston
Memphis
UCF
USF

Bowlsby authorized to contact the schools

Cincy seems to be the front runner:

Makes sense so WVU has a travel partner.

Yup.... Cincinnati seems to be a no-brainer, given that Ohio is the 7th most populous state in the union.... and West Virginia would have a travel partner.... and the Bearcats just renovated & expanded Nippert Stadium last year.

It would also make sense for the Big XII to re-enter the Colorado/Denver market by adding Colorado State and their under-construction new on-campus stadium.

It would also make sense to push into SEC geographic territory and perhaps get some of that Fed-Ex money by adding Memphis.

Gotta have equal Texas exposure in both divisions, so that all non-Texas teams play at least two Texas schools each season... it would be dumb to place all Texas schools in the same division. So..... if the Big XII goes to 14 members (hypothetical new members in BOLD CAPS), perhaps an alignment something like this:

WEST
BYU
COLORADO STATE

Kansas
K-State
Oklahoma
Texas
Texas Tech

EAST
Baylor
CINCINNATI
Iowa State
MEMPHIS
Oklahoma State
TCU
West Virginia

UConn and Notre Dame eventually to the ACC.

And perhaps (very slight chance) even in the future----- Houston and Boise State to the PAC?

If two schools, BYU and Cincinnati will be the two. I don't see four.

Someone was crazy and said six awhile ago on these forums. Wasn't me, I just agreed with their idea.

Now, is it Florida or Connecticut? I can't see Texas agreeing to go to Connecticut, so it will be a Florida school. I will go with USF since it is in Tampa Bay. Not to mention Florida has football recruits, UCONN is currently women's basketball.

If six,

BYU
Cincinnati
Colorado State
Houston - politicos in Texas will be pushing hard to add the fifth Texas school
Memphis
USF

Houston and Tulane will never happen as long as Texas is in the league. Houston is recruiting competition. Tulane is just ridiculous. Might as well say Troy or Tulsa.

Do I want this? No
Do I think this is the worst case scenario which is normally what the conference shoots for? Yes

You get your wish OKLAHOMA. You have finally broken the Longhorns resolve to not move West with you guys.

We will conference call Los Angeles together.

This leadership is embarrassing in our current conference of shitty academic schools and sexual assaults.

Let them be conference USA without us.

Texas gives up. We will co-sign the PAC-12 application with the folks in Norman like you always wanted.

Sit down and shut up...you ain't going nowhere because nobody else will have you now.

I bet they move to Florida-open up the Southeast recruiting. UCF and USF.
If we go G5 I agree, both FL schools UH (could be BYU as a football only I guess too) and Cincy. Instant rivalries all over hot football recruiting areas with a move like that.

No chance, the GOR will be extended with expansion you can put that in the bank. I said it before and I'll say it again, aint NOBODY going NOWHERE while there is a GOR in place.

If we're going to do this, BOTH florida schools are a MUST. Getting into that market trumps everything else on the table.

I could see dropping Memphis for a CSU or BYU, but out of those three, I don't think anyone really cares.

Personally I hate ALL these options.

The only one I could think of is Colorado. Who else would want back in? Mizzouri and A&M seem to be doing well in the SEC. But maybe one wants back? Maybe Nebraska wants back in because they were placed in the terrible division by themselves and their only rival is Northwestern?

It has to be Missouri and Colorado.
