Well according to reports, its exactly what we all were thinking......NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Apparently common sense ruled the meetings. None of the teams fit, or make any sense financially, so the conference will not expand.

Starlord, I disagree. I would say that either expand or get picked apart. With Notre Dame going to the ACC we are the odd man out. OU and Texas both have to be in the top 10 for the Big 12 to be relevant. Most people don't respect half of our conference.

The problem isn't expansion. It's expanding with the teams mentioned here.....NO NO and NO.

NONE of these teams do anything but make the conference worse. Houston? Nope. BYU? NOPE.

We need to go big or don't bother. Expanding just for the sake of expansion does not help the conference.

While true, I don't think the conference gains any additional respect by adding any of the teams that have been mentioned. The only candidate mentioned with any national appeal/following is BYU.

I think adding one or both of the Florida schools with Cinncy or adding BYU and Colorado St. adds quality.

I have to disagree. If they were "needle movers" wouldn't other conferences be seeking them?

Not horrible programs at all, but not "needle movers" IMHO.

The main excitement for this was because majority of this conference (I'd say 70%) aren't garuntee a spot at the big boy table. While I don't truely believe any of these schools want this conference to go under (location, location, location) the majority (90%) are in the opinion that expanding the conference saves it from getting disbanded. That is the whole worry here.

An NO, WVU is not part of the minority in those percentages I listed. They are not safe should something happen.

Cincy seems to be the front runner:

Makes sense so WVU has a travel partner.

Well well, now they swing waaaay over the other way. Not only are they definitely going to expand, it will probably be with 4 teams.

Also, report is it will be done in time for the 2017 season.

Like, WUT?

Also noted: Said current members will not get less per year, because that's as the contract was negotiated (we had already heard this earlier this year).
Looking at their fanbases, academic standing, TV following, reputations.

If they add some of those schools we will have a mixture of institutions that run the gamut from blue chips to never-weres to financial gnats. Might as well just rename it the Hermaphrodite Conference.

Obviously, all the schools other than Texas, OU at least, are pushing this. They want to have a viable conference after the these two have left...

just a thought I've thrown out there.

Of course, maybe they'll grab some up-and-comers that will take off by being in a P5 conference, and in 5-10 years they become the 'current' powers. Hell I dont know.

You get your wish OKLAHOMA. You have finally broken the Longhorns resolve to not move West with you guys.

We will conference call Los Angeles together.

This leadership is embarrassing in our current conference of shitty academic schools and sexual assaults.

Let them be conference USA without us.

Texas gives up. We will co-sign the PAC-12 application with the folks in Norman like you always wanted.

I've long given up any kind of conference following, if I ever had any.

Dont care where Texas is or goes. Just win the next game on the schedule. Win 'em all. Win the champeenship.

Conference :nutswing:has reached a fever pitch around the country, I'm kinda glad my team's in a conference that is almost the anti-conference.
