Big 10, Pac-12 lacking when it comes to Power-5 opponents

None of the kids anybody in the country is recruiting has ever seen Washington beat a ranked OOC opponent in the regular season.

Washington has beaten plenty of teams that were ranked. Get back to us when the SEC grows a set.

FYI...the Pac-12 also counts BYU as a P5 opponent, as does every other P5 conference.

Also FYI...the Pac-12 is 35-37 against non-Pac-12 P5 opponents in the last 5 years, BYU is 4-6 against those same teams...which is fitting, because a lot of us are wondering if maybe some other teams shouldn't be considered P5...

The PAC and Big 12 don't count BYU as a P5 although the other three P5 conferences do.

The Big 12 does indeed count BYU. You can say the Pac-12 doesn't, but they are the only conference that doesn't mandate that you play a P5, so it doesn't really count. You are also the conference that has 9 teams playing BYU 18 times over a five year stretch, so if you did require it, they would definitely qualify.

When we faced Taysom Hill in a home and home.. we also had a home and home with Ole Miss at the same time. Not sure if the Big 12 counted that as 2 P5 OOC opponents but at the time I don't think they cared since Baylor was scheduling sisters of the poor in all three of it's OOC games.

In 2020, the Cougars face Pac-12 teams in two of their first three games.

In 2021, they open with three consecutive Pac-12 opponents. BYU actually plays FIVE PAC 12 opponents in 2021.
