At his Thursday press conference, someone asked him about the Wall Street Journal article(latest to attack Wisconsin's scheduling apparently)....

"There's a lot of things you have to work through.... I would love the opportunity, and I've said it, but the one thing I will not do is go play somebody, a big time BCS, if they're not going to come to Madison too. That has been the # 1 fault, or the #1 thing we can't overcome is people don't wanna come here....which is a good thing, but it's a bad thing when you're tryin' to schedule."

Asked if he hears a lot about scheduling....

"No, I don't hear about scheduling. I know somebody said something to me on Tuesday so I could be prepared for the question, but...I frankly don't care..."

Nor should Bielema do a game against any big time program without a home game in return. Why in the world would a top 25 program ever do that? Its the same reason that I have no problem with Boise not doing it either. Doesnt matter who you are, if you are a top tier football program there is 0 point in playing a big road game unless its reciprocated.

Hey did you see that the B1G just mandated a 9 game schedule. Iowa vs Wisconsin will return to permanence. I would imagine, anyway.

Not any worse than Minnesota. Yes I know it's the oldest rivalry, but I don't care. I'm not from Wisconsin originally, so I didn't grow up with it, and it's not competitive.

As I recall, the original series was 2008 and 2009 home and away series. ESPN proposed moving the 2009 game to 2006. Both games got moved to 2016/2017 per link below:

Ya, I thought that whole Tech-UW thing was all overblown. Both schools were still in the process of making it happen when the 08-09 games fell through. Nobody wanted to back out. Win or lose, VT on the schedule is a great challenge that should make the Badgers a better team. Same for the Hokies...should give them a chance to line up against a power run game and get that experience.

Washington State is in the middle of nowhere with a stadium that holds 35,000. If there is a single team that doesn't belong in a BCS conference which currently is in one, it is Washington State. I don't think people get how isolated that campus is.

No kidding. I had to drive from Seattle to Spokane once. Once you get over the Cascades it's just a whole lot of nothing.
