I think they are more intellectual rather than physical. Schemes over strength.
Both. They are much more aggressive than in past years. No doubt it’s a smart defense and the looks they show, confuse the opposing offense. Also, blitzing, pressuring a lot more, and they are tackling well. Really want to see them against a top tier offense. I believe they will continue to look good. This is a very solid D unit.

I don't mean they aren't aggressive, they just don't blow you out of the way on the way to the QB. Not a lot of heavy hitters. Lots of good tacklers though.

Changed my vote to the Pats. The Bears defense is quickly becoming one of the below average defenses in the league.

Right now, it’s not even a question bw the pats, 49ers, bears. The pats are on pace for a historic season.

I want to see how my 49ers and the Patriots defenses fair against better opponents so far each have basically played dumpster fires.

There is more pure talent on the Bears but the Patriots defense is more cerebral.

They are playing well against the Browns BUT Chubb and Cleveland are pushing them around so its still too early to annoit them just yet.

Pats are playing a bunch of nickel and dime. I think that's Belichick picking Chubbs to get his yards and limiting OBJ and Landry.

It is really impossible to judge.
I have never seen a more tissue paper soft schedule in history through 8 games.

The Pats are playing some of the worst teams and worst offenses ever assembled
The best offense they played was the horrible New York Giants with a 17th ranked defense.

Teams like the Jets, Dolphins, Steelers, Redskins, and Browns are all ranked 25th or worse in offense.
Everyone shuts those teams down as well.

We will know more when they play the Ravens, Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, and Texans.
Those teams at least have a pulse.
