So here is my issue, this year will be the first year in ten years that I will have Saturdays off, I don't not watch tv normally, so I don't have cable, netflix, espn on demand, and amazon prime works fine on my tv. What I don't want to do is ruin another laptop by streaming games all the time. So is there an avenue for me where I can watch the games I want? Or am I regulated to buying a cheap laptop and hooking up to the tv and watching the games I want in a low quality choppy stream? If I could call the cable company and tell them that I just want cfb I'd do that, but I duno if that's available. I have til the end of the month to figure this out, I figured you guise would be the best ones to ask. :suds:

I think a lot of viewers are in the same predicament and there's not an easy solution that I know of. :(

I guess I will just do like I have for years. This year though, I'm just going to buy a cheap laptop so I don't ruin my good ones.

Bite the bullet and get cable for the fall or spend a lot of time in sports bars.

If you don't want to pay $30 month for basic cable or satellite, You'll have to settle for 2-5 games on Saturdays from CBS, NBC, ABC, or FOX for free.

Here's your first Saturday.

California at Northwestern OR West Virginia vs. Alabama (ABC, 3:30pm ET)

Rice at Notre Dame (NBC, 3:30pm ET)

Fresno State at USC (FOX 7:30 pm ET)

Oklahoma State vs. Florida State in Arlington, Texas, (ABC 8:00pm)

Maybe you can get chromecast. You can stream videos on your laptop still, but the videos are loaded through the wifi of the chromecast and the laptop is basically just a remote control. You can use PC too.

I use it for netflix, and I know it works on youtube and some other stuff. I'm not sure if it will work with all sports sources, but they are only $30 and if you buy it at some place like Walmart you can take it back if you can't get it working.

This thread makes me feel like I am in the top 3% wealthy percent of america holy shit. Cable isn't expensive, just buy it for the fall....or go to a bar and watch the games (which I'd end up spending more money at the bars in a month than I would if I had just bought cable).

I agree with the others.

I have cable and I don't watch anything at all other than football.

Hell I signed into a 2 year contract just so I can watch football.

It's cheap and the quality is good. My Thursdays-Sundays are awesome because of it. YOLO.

Buy a cable subscription for 3 months. One of the cheapest packages should at least include ESPN and ESPN2. Along with CBS and ABC that covers most of the games. That would be cheaper than buying a cheap laptop -- probably like $50/month.

I personally consider it worth while to be able to watch all of the games I want to watch. That's how I justify having a cable subscription at all because everything else you can get through other avenues very easily.
