07 was the best team but didnt win it all so got to go with 03 Pats:suds:
I'll go with '04 over '03. Defense was slightly better in '03 but the offense in '04 was better thanks to Corey Dillon on the team and Brady having a better year.

well its common knowledge that if the pats won 07 sb they would be the greatest team ever. why? because of what they did that season. not because of just winning the last game of the year.

same thing applies in reverse, teams that win the sb but are pretty unimpressive during the season or havent really done anything special dont make them a great team. they just won the last game. ie see the steelers garbagebowls.

That's a big "if". And fact is they didn't win the game. Going undefeated would have been great and they obviously would have been in the discussion as greatest ever, and most would probably say they were. However, I can't put them ahead of a team like the '89 49ers or '91 Redskins who won the Super Bowl and only lost their two regular season games by a combined 5 points.

I guess '89 was a pretty good year...

Beat the Vikings in the divisional round 41-13
Beat the Rams in the NFC Championship game 30-3
Beat Denver in the SB 55-10.

Yeah I'd say that was pretty dominant.

...And Steve Young was the BACKUP QB.

...That video's funny in English and not backwards.

Why do I have this sneaking suspicion that you don't respect the Steelers accomplishments very much? :noidea:

Those are like video game numbers. That was one of the greatest teams in history.

Top 5, but I would take the '07 Patriots and '98 Vikings over them.

This year's Bronco's team is nearly certain to set a new record for points in a season. Need 75 more in three games to get that done.

im just saying you cant rule out teams that didnt win the sb. if the 07 pats went 11-5 and crapped their way through the season yet won the sb the greatest team in history wouldnt even be in the discussion. the fact that it was means they did something special other than win the sb. they dominated everyone, even elite teams, they crushed multipled division leaders, they even beat the sb champs in week 17. they were more impressive than most teams that actually won the sb.

I can rule them out of the discussion for greatest team ever, and you should as well. I'm not saying that every team that wins the Super Bowl is automatically better than every team in history that did not win the Super Bowl, that would be ludicrous. However, I can't put the Patriots ahead of the great teams that also dominated everyone AND won the Super Bowl. They just don't get into that elite category.

I agree. I just didn't include them because the season isn't over yet.

Yes, you rule them out. X :L

Of course not. If you crapped through the season, then, no you aren't in the discussion. :L

the fact that it was means they did something special other than win the sb.

 Key phrase = OTHER than WIN the sb. :L

 Key phrase = even beat the SB CHAMPS in WEEK 17. Who cares about week 17? :L

thats fair but i dont think any team has dominated like the 07 pats. scoring records, win streeks, salary cap era, undefeated, number of division leaders they beat and eventual sb champs, best coach ever, best qb ever, best wr ever, no sb team can claim they did better except win the last game.
