Best Rushing Defense Ever?

They disappear for halves, they turn the ball over way too much, they get way too many stupid penalties, they are on the road against a good team that can put up points. Their pass defense is not good.

Fair enough. But Philly has its faults just as Detroit does. The Cowboys are atop the East right with the Iggles. We already beat them in a verrrry tight game. I just don't see an asskicking coming, not for either team.

I suppose that's true. I'll admit I sway to the optimistic side of reality in my life and my Lionsfandom. And who these posters though? I for one can only find Kreton as in your description. Everyone else has discussed our inadequacies. I can't think of one poster of the top of my head that thinks everything is happy go lucky for this team. So who are these posters you think fit this bill? Names would be great examples.

There are plenty of overly homer fans in here, I have no problem with it as long as they can show some respect when someone doesnt share their exact views. But as I said previously it doesnt work that way. Ive never told others to stfu, called them ridiculous names, etc because they think differently than I and therein lies the issue. How am I supposed to find anyone credible that resorts to that nonsense?

Saints, broncos, seahawks 49ers. .yeah pretty much. Of course anyone could win it, thats the beauty of the playoffs. That doesnt mean I consider them legitimate. The lions havent won shit, currently and hell they were 6-3 and "in the drivers seat" a few weeks ago as well were they not? The Lions aren't clearly the superior team, and I've said a few times now that we're pretty evenly matched. Stop putting words in my mouth just because you're getting angry over a point of view that you can't support with anything other than your opinion. It's fine to have your opinion, but you can't seem to handle others who don't agree with it, and aren't afraid to tell you as much.

The second part, however, is dead-on. The Giants and Packers (and every other team who makes the post-season tourney) were indeed legitimate contenders, as evidenced by the fact that they won the Super Bowl as the lowest seed in the post season. I can't really see how one can deny that logic. Some teams certainly have better odds, but all 12 teams that get in have to be viewed as legitimate contenders.

Talk about beating a dead horse... jeez. Who keeps telling you to stfu, who keeps calling you ridiculous names? Clearly it keeps happening over and over, in this very thread, because you keep making reference to it as the reason we're all wrong and you're right, but I'm just not seeing all this bullying you keep pointing to. Maybe someone has done these things in the past (probably me, given our history) but we're talking about the now, and I just don't see any evidence that this is a reoccurring issue.

If I had to guess I'd say it has a lot more to with the arguments you get in which are just as much you being inflammatory as it is people attacking you. It's a two way street- you like to toss out controversial statements about how/why certain aspects of our team suck, then you try to play the victim card when we "homers" disagree with your opinion and fire back with similar inflammatory language.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander- if you can't take the responses your comments generate, then quit making comments that you know damn well are going to cause a stir. Ahh- I see. So it's the three best teams in the league right now and a team with one more win than us. Might as well cancel the 1st two rounds of the playoffs then and just let these four teams compete in the semifinals then, since they're the only teams with a legitimate shot to actually win it.

Im feeling the same way. Winning on the road isn't easy and good teams win their home games. If this game were at Ford Field Id put money down on us. But it's not, so Id imagine Philly will be somewhere around 4 point favorites. Stopping McCoy will be a challenge. He's dangerous as a receiver just as he is carrying the ball. As well as we've stopped the run, receiving RBs have still made big plays against us. (Bells was a gamechanger in the Puttsburgh game IMO). Im looking forward to seeing Foles in action. Really interested in seeing if the DLine can put pressure on him and knock him off his impressive run.

I didnt see one person predict gloom and doom. Absolutely nobody said anything at all to the effect that they hoped the Lions would lose. All anyone did was point out that we hadnt won anything yet. What I personally said was that with seven weeks to go in the season and a team that is so damn unpredictable that it was way to early to start talking division championships. And guess what, they dropped two games in a row, including one that nobody on this board figured they would lose.

I was at that TB game as well and that sure as hell didnt look like a contender. You are just drowning in so much kool aid that anyone on here that takes a position of wait and see before they get their playoff hopes up you call a hater.

The Lions have one of the most potent offenses in the NFL, and one of the best run defenses in the NFL. Special Teams we look good most of the time. Pass D might not be too bad but being bad in 1 aspect out of 5 ain't too shabby.

As far as some of you haters talking about they Lions aren't superbowl contenders you can kiss my ass. ALL playoff teams are contenders. All you have to get in and anything can happen.
