Murray was questionable. And Lacy is a beast. But thanks for the jabs.

They were above the belt and I made it to the bell though. It's all good. We're just getting warmed up in this 16 rounder. If I had lost a matchup in the last two months, wasn't leading in points by over a hundy, and didn't have the best record I might have felt a need to get a little defensive. But... Well.. Y'all gots a squirrel prolem up in the keeper league. I just gotta hope McCown throws TDs to BMarshall and not Jefrey or ZwicJr's gonna get me.

I will keep them above the belt if you promise not to steal my soul.

Seriously, you have the Packers RB, and the Bears QB and WR? Trader!!!!

i'm surprised how many Lions fans are questioning their defense. They have been playing very well over their last 5 games. the defense is not what is hurting this team over their past 5 games. It's the ridiculous amount of turnovers that your offense is giving away and putting your defense in too many bad spots.

this defense is better than previous versions, no doubt. and, if their offense would stop putting them in bad situations, more people would realize it.

Looks like Rodney Austin got Spurlock's roster spot. Sounds like an upgrade to me!

Optimism is frowned upon, if not downright ridiculed, by some who have been watching this team for a long time. It's understandable. We've been burned many times before. But it should be obvious to anyone watching the games that there's been a lot of improvement on that side of the ball and it's not just smoke & mirrors. We're middle of the pack statistically overall and pretty damn good at stopping the run. This team has never had a legit smash-mouth LOS on either side of the ball so it's hard to believe we may be watching one in the making. But you're right. The Giants are the only team with more give-aways and we're -8 in TO ratio which is also one of the worst in the league. If not for that, the D would be ranked even higher and we'd probably have a couple more wins as well.

I don't care if were #1 in rush defense if were #32 in pass defense....That should tell you something....Teams just throw on us instead of running.

7-5 though is better then I can remember in a long time....I'll take it, but don't sugar coat it.....Hell we just turned into the NFC East.....No one is afraid of the Cowboys, Giants' Eagles, or Redskins either.

Lions are ranked around 25th against the pass. Depends on what site. Muzz I do not feel they are sugar coating. Teams have no choice but to pass. They can not run right now. The thread is about run defense. Which has been stellar!!

Houston has best overall defense yardage wise and Denver 25th... I do not look into ranks too much just W and L column. Which at this point I will also take 7-5.

Let's see how they fair aginst McCoy next week??

I don't think it will matter how well we play against McCoy, or Jackson or foles. Haters gonna hate.

Meow didn't mean to stir the pot, just really wanted to know where he was?? Maybe he was visiting Principal...555

I was actually at the Tb game. Didnt want to be engulfed in my phone there or while I was visitingfamily. AAnd I keep telling you realists you are realists at all. Your little doom and gloom act and celebrating losses so you can be right means little to me. Lions are still playoff boun, and that makes tthem a super bowl contender. Keep hatin.

I meant you aren't realists at all. Predicting failure doesn't make you more real. Lions win more than they lose. It blows my mind how people can still find reasons to complain after blowing out the Packers. Keep your hate, I am loving this year.

Not really doom and gloom guy here. Speaking of having a problem in the kicking game, and committing TO's that will hurt in a close game is not hating or complaining. I do feel the Lions are playoff bound, but if you think that speaking of TO's, coaching blunders, ST blunders in kick game and a weak pass defense is complaining and hating. You sir are a uneducated football fan.

I didnt see one person predict gloom and doom. Absolutely nobody said anything at all to the effect that they hoped the Lions would lose. All anyone did was point out that we hadnt won anything yet. What I personally said was that with seven weeks to go in the season and a team that is so damn unpredictable that it was way to early to start talking division championships. And guess what, they dropped two games in a row, including one that nobody on this board figured they would lose.

I was at that TB game as well and that sure as hell didnt look like a contender. You are just drowning in so much kool aid that anyone on here that takes a position of wait and see before they get their playoff hopes up you call a hater.

That's not hating, its simple intelligence. Now you pop back up after the Lions finally get another W and the Vikes hand us a huge favor with their win yesterday.

You act as if people on here were rooting against the team, which is what makes your cornbread bullshit so aggravating. You want a hater, look in damn mirror, because its you hating on your fellow Lions fans when they don't stoop to your level of homerism.

I believe he's referencing the entire season Meow. For instance during game threads. Where say, a fumble occurs, or a tight end drops a pass, or Houston gets toasted in coverage, or Schwartz opts to take the ball, or Staff throws off his back foot into triple coverage.... And the players instantly need to be cut, coaches fired and "the realists" remind people that this isn't a playoff team. When in reality, they are a team which has been in first place since the opening game back in Septemeber. (Reason Chicago is two games? they lost two games to Detroit, pretty simple.)Maybe Im wrong, but I think that's what Kreton is getting at. If am I am wrong, here's my opinion: There is a big damn difference between being a realist an being a pessimist. And when being optimistic gets turned into being sunshine, rainbows and caviar dreams, something's wrong in the "realists" point of view, general attitude, etc. I'll save the rest of my opinion for later. Im busy trying to figure out if I want NewOrlins to win on the road tonight or not.

Definitely want New Orleans to win tonight- whichever team takes this game is likely to have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. If (big if) we make it to the NFC Championship game I'd much rather play in the Super Dome than outside in Seattle. Not that facing New Orleans at home ideal, but much better than facing Seattle on a cold, wet, sloppy outdoor field.

Carolina and NO still have to face each other twice.(In the next two weeks for some crazyass reason) Im not sure The Saints will even win their division. And Im not sure I want them to. They aren't necessarily a huge road power. (Still would be inside... )Im struggling with the idea of getting them at Ford Field in the playoffs over Carolina. Totalllllly with you on the playing at Seatle part. (Im most likely going to just be neutral. While hoping Brees gets the piss slammed out if him.)
