Russell Wilson in 2011 had the greatest season in NCAA history. To not even have the Passer Rating record holder as an honorable mention is a joke. Montee was great that year, but Russell was in another stratosphere.

Im sure Russell was the 4th honorable mention. I probably would have put him in over Pat Richter in 1962 mainly because it was in 1962. Obviously more talent nowadays than back then.

Let me guess: Tommie Frazier's the best player ever, but the guy with 10.3 YPA, 33 TDs, 4 INTs., a 73% completion percentage, the highest passer rating ever (191.8), who led two late drives to put his team in position to win in both their losses sucks.

I got it: He must not have been a great NFL player. Isn't that why we always disquaify Ron Dayne from greatness? Wait? What's that? He's been a Pro Bowler both years in the NFL, won a Super Bowl, and had the greatest start to a career ever for a QB?

There's the highlights. We all know what we saw. You of all people even praised him. I wish I could claim having him outside the top 4 is a testament to the great Wisconsin seasons, but it's not. It's a testament to how a Luck and RG3 adoring media managed to rewrite history to try to create the next Brady-Manning rivalry, only to ignore the best player in their class. You'd think you people would have learned after everything that's happened over the last two years, but I guess it's better to be stubborn than accurate.

Ah. This thread wasn't about Nebraska or their players for me and I'm honestly not interested in debating that. Especially not with you.

I just thought it was a really cool list and it reminded me of a ton of my favorite college players.

And I thought it reminded me of how the greatest season in my team's history and of my favorite player was ignored. I give it as an unbiased fan who lived through 3 of his team's 4 picks, and as someone who saw nearly every game in 2011(where the editors picked another player from our team) in person.

So why the hate?

It's about more than stats to me. You gotta win. You can't have the greatest individual season of all time without winning a championship. He came up short.

Wilson's season is pretty far down the list of exceptional individual seasons IMO.

That was a pretty sad B1G conference that year.
