AJ McCarron?

One of the most overrated QBs in the history of college football. Of course, that is just my opinion.

The rest of your list is way too current. We are talking about 50 years. FIFTY. You have AJ McCarron over Jim Plunkett. That is just sad. Matt Lienart belongs nowhere on this list.

You are a dumbass who thinks NFL careers after are the only signals for a good QB.

Some interesting names being thrown out there, but most of them are from the last 10 years, or so. McCarron? Seriously? Over Testaverde or Kelly? GTFO!! McMahon? Montana? Young? Wake up and smell the coffee.

Ummm. yeah. He was exactly that.

You're just a hater or just don't know football if you think Lienart was just a game manager. He threw just as must if not more than most and Chows offense was not set up for game managers . He was aggressive with the passing game. Put down the crack pipe.

I have to agree, AJ deserves respect for sure but top 10 all time? Na

Agree, some of those Miami QB's should be in the convo, Pat White as well.

Top10 over 50 years has a ton of QB's. However, it would be hard to top what he accomplished in the 3 years he was a starter.

Not getting that 3rd in a row hurts him a bit.

So I don't know if he should be top10, probably not. But it's not a nominee that should be mocked.

 @OP. Says Tim Tebow should rank high, but Leinart doesn't belong anywhere on the list.

Career stats:

Tebow: Pass att. 985, Pass comp. 665, Pct. 67.1, Pass yds. 9,286, TD's 88, Int. 15, Record as starter 35-6. 1 NC. Won the Heisman.

Leinart: Pass att. 1,245, Pass comp. 807, Pct. 64.8, Pass yds. 10,693, TD's 99, Int.23, Record as starter 37-2. 2 NC's. Won the Heisman.

Tebow has 2 more starts than Leinart over his career due to SEC Championship games.

Yes, clearly the OP is right. Tebow belongs high on the list and Leinart does not. :L

Has Ken Dorsey been mentioned at all? He might not have a Heisman but does have a national title & only lost 2 games in 3 years while @ The U.

Not to just ignore Leinart, but if you compare him to Tebow, you have to add Tebow's rushing stats also.

OP, why should AJ McCarron not be top 10?

:finebaum:

I think to be top a top 10 QB you should probably be 1st team All-Conference at least once

I just concede rushing to Tebow. His ability to run the ball was a big part of Florida's offense. If Leinart was running, something had gone terribly wrong.

Leinart didn't need to run either. Just hand it to Bush and let him go.

I can't say who is the best...but I can say who is the best I ever saw play the game...John Elway...guy torched me Beavs every time he strapped on a jock and played them, which isn't saying much. He was big, strong armed and accurate thrower.

Yeah that's true, I am not old enough to have watched those greats while they were in college.

Yeah, when you add Tebow's 2,947 rushing yards and 57 rushing TDs, there is really no comparison. Also, did you know that Tebow broke Herschel Walker's SEC record for rushing TDs?
