Paul James Krause...Minnytonka Vikings

I will get an earfull about how he was a safety, I aint buying that. Krause played a D-back position and was considered a "roamer". Gawd damn was he good at it too.

He set the NFL record for INT's with 81.

NONE BETTER than #22 for me Minnesoda Vikings!

Um...is that any different than a 49er's fan that picked Deion Sanders?

That's not why I picked Rod...Rod, as I said, hit like a LB and still had the speed to play cover corner. Let's not forget that he made the NFL's 75th anniversary team and Deion didn't.

Rod had been in the league longer when the 75th anniversary team came out. When 100th anniversary team comes out it in 5 years, I expect Deion to be there.

I voted for Williams because he always got lost playing for the Cards.

Darrell Green Runs 4.43 40-Yard Dash on 50th Birthday

He supposedly ran a 4.43 at age 50 (an age where a lot of ex-NFLers can hardly move) & a 4.2 at age 40. Crazy.

well that is who I voted for. The "Ageless wonder"
Part of what makes one great is the longevity at playing at such a high level.
Not sure of everyone else, but don't think anyone did it as good for longer than Darrell Green.
20 frickin' years at Cornerback.

Always thought Mike Haynes was under appreciated.

Lester Hayes
not trying to diss on Hayes, but he wasnt the best on his own team. So he cant be best all time.
He was a top notch CB no doubt, but one of the reasons he got so many INTs was because Haynes played on the other side of him. (be interesting to do a best CB duo for teams)

Haynes and Hayes played together from 83-86 Haynes was 30 years old the first year he and Lester played together. Lester was in his 7th year in the league when Haynes joined the Raiders. In their four years playing together Lester had 9 INT's Haynes had 13.

You were saying?

He is not on your list and is a hall of famer:
Emmitt Thomas KC CHiefs belongs on your list

58 interceptions, five Pro Bowls, his Super Bowl IV ring 4.3 speed.

It took to long to enshrine him but he belongs on the list a complete corner.

I take him and Darrell Green who Thomas coached in my all time CB backfield any day

JMHO

Others can and will vary

Apologies, but the list of CB's in the HOF is a long one and I could only list 11 and then left one for 'other'.

Mike Haynes was a quiet shadow... gliding along w/ receivers in their hip pockets
He really did make it look simple.
Deion was a shadow also
BLOUNT was a Hammer !

Someone mentioned Paul Krause!..... UNDERAPPRECIATED Paul Krause

NO he played in the "defensive backfield or DB"...sorry angel my bad.

81 INTS and gawd only knows how many fumble recoveries too.

STILL, Krause was the best that ever played in the DB position that includes CBs.

Paul Krause did play Safety and according to Pro-Football Reference he had 19 fumble recoveries. He's a pretty nice guy, he and my grandfather were friends, I met him a few times.
