If I were the bengals I'd do just about anything to trade up and snag manziel or bortes. The team has a ton of talent they just need a guy with some potential running the show. Dalton is mediocre with a capital M.

Let's assume this is true.

Why would you SAY that to the press?

What you're telling Dalton is, "I have no confidence in you".

How is this going to do anything but hurt the situation with Dalton?

So he's ripping his QB, yet he won't fire the head coach that can't win a playoff game after having a decade to do so. Does the Bengals owner even like the team he owns, or are 3 of the teams in the division owned by Steelers fans?

Nope. The other teams are just that stupid.

The Ravens over paying Flacco is going to bite them.

Mike Brown's ego running the ship in Cincy does the same. If he had half a brain he'd fire Dalton and Lewis, and bring in a HC/QB combination that would work.

The Browns are....well....the Browns.

Yesterday, a packers player had a pick six in his hands and dropped it. The narrative today would be much different.
Jury is still out on kap and all of the rest of the "new' quarterbacks. They all do great things, but the bonehead play is just waiting to happen.

Funny for this to come out, when Gruden is currently the "leading candidate" for the HC job in DC, where one would conclude that RG3 is quite comparable to CK. Does that mean Washington fans will be looking at Cousins next season?

CK has the better team.

Dalton has one stud receiver and a bunch of just guys. That formula hasn't worked for Dteroit it will not work for the Bengals.

As for weak arm is the reason for Dalton's INTs:bullshit:

Stafford has one of the strongest arms in the NFL but makes bad decisions. When your not expected to pass to win you will not make the interceptions, see Alex Smith!

Gresham, Eifert, Bernard, Jones,Sanu, nice oline, top five defense

Are you kidding me? Dalton has the 2nd-best WR in the NFL, 2 great TEs and a really good OL. Dalton and Kap both probably have top-5 supporting casts in the NFL on offense (and they both have great defenses too). The only QB who's had more help than those guys is Matt Ryan.

I didn't say a weak arm is the only reason QBs throw picks. Favre had a cannon, and he threw picks like they were going out of style. But having a weak arm is going to make it easy for a DB to jump on an out pattern or deep passes. And Dalton doesn't have the other qualities to make up for having a weaker arm.

My point wasn't Dalton's arm; it was his interception percentage. It's almost twice as much as Kap's, and that's one reason why it's ridiculous to say Dalton is better than Kaepernick.

I don't know how a team's gonna give a QB more help than Dalton's got over the last couple of years. His help isn't the problem.

Well, I would say that a statement like that from your owner/GM pretty much seals the deal on Dalton being done in Cincy really soon . I don't think Dalton is terrible overall but he is inconsistent and throws way too many picks because of bad decision-making. He also seems to be unable to step it up come play-off time. Normally I would give him the benefit of youth and inexperience but 3 straight years is a trend. Of course, I will lay some blame on Jay Gruden and Marvin Lewis in those play-off games but Dalton throws some inexplicable balls to the other team and at terrible times.

One thing I will give to Kaep is he shows up when it matters. He got his team to the SB after only half a season, granted, it's a great team around him but he did it and that speaks volumes about his make-up. Dalton, Schaub, Romo and a lot of other guys can't get there (yet). He is still very young and the knocks on him are a little over-blown imo. He does stare down receivers somewhat but most young guys do and it's a learning curve in the NFL. Even though I'm a Seahawk fan, I don't have this weird hate for the guy like others seem too. As I said way back at the beginning of the season when Kaep struggled in Seattle, it's too early to judge him based on those 2 games at the Clink. The guy has a unique skill-set and only time will tell if he can adjust and adapt in the NFL. I think he's pretty close. As for football "smarts", that is learned through experience, much like most things in life.

It's like telling your daughter, "I really wanted a boy".

When I would get in trouble as a teenager my Mom would say "I really wanted a girl"

But she didn't realize that teenage girls are a royal pain in the ass to deal with!
