You're splitting hairs here, Money.
The Ravens won the SB for the 2012 season, and in the 2013 season you missed the playoffs.
and only one of those scenarios actually involved Kaepernick.

Nope. The other teams are just that stupid.
The Ravens over paying Flacco is going to bite them.
Mike Brown's ego running the ship in Cincy does the same. If he had half a brain he'd fire Dalton and Lewis, and bring in a HC/QB combination that would work.
The Browns are....well....the Browns.
He came on last year like a house of fire and has stayed hot. So yeah, I can give him 2012 as well.
It just seems like you're trying to split hairs on this, for whatever reason.
Did you seriously just call the Ravens' front office stupid???
Yes.
Q: Should the Ravens have signed Joe Flacco to a contract prior to the start of the 2012 season?
A: Yes. They preferred to play a game of chicken with him instead and he ended up getting them to pay through the nose. That number only goes up from here and it's money they could have saved by signing him prior to last year instead of waiting for him to have them over a barrel.
Q: The Ravens asked Boldin to take a pay cut or be cut. Was this a wise move?
A: No. He was Flacco's security blanket. He was HUGE for you guys in 2012 and it's clear that Flacco missed having him this year. Not having him not only hurt your passing game, but your running game as well. Teams are putting 8 men in the box to stop Rice, knowing that Flacco doesn't have that go to guy anymore.
Both of these were stupid moves.
Hindsight is 20/20 and it's not worth my time to argue with you about how these two particular scenarios played out. The bottom line is the Ravens' front office is widely considered one of the very best in the league. You calling these individuals stupid as beyond laughable.
And yet these were stupid moves.
It's not a hindsight thing, either. Flacco SHOULD have been signed prior to last year and you guys putting Boldin in that position was.....stupid.
We're not talking about passing on some 3rd round pick that ended up being a SB winning QB. These were both moves that people questioned at the time and the Ravens went ahead anyway.
That doesn't change the fact that you should have signed Flacco prior to the 2012 season and you dared Boldin to walk.
Stupid things to do.
What that does do is point out what a moron you are for calling the Ravens' front office stupid. Should the Steelers have renegotiated as many veteran contracts as they did, which put them in cap hell and paved the way to their mediocrity? No. Would I call their front office stupid? Absolutely not.

They put it all on the line for one thing, to win a Super Bowl. Mission accomplished.
How many teams would do it for a ring? I would say every stinking one of them.

And I could call you a homer for blindly agreeing with your FO on those decisions.
Well, I would say that a statement like that from your owner/GM pretty much seals the deal on Dalton being done in Cincy really soon . I don't think Dalton is terrible overall but he is inconsistent and throws way too many picks because of bad decision-making. He also seems to be unable to step it up come play-off time. Normally I would give him the benefit of youth and inexperience but 3 straight years is a trend. Of course, I will lay some blame on Jay Gruden and Marvin Lewis in those play-off games but Dalton throws some inexplicable balls to the other team and at terrible times.
One thing I will give to Kaep is he shows up when it matters. He got his team to the SB after only half a season, granted, it's a great team around him but he did it and that speaks volumes about his make-up. Dalton, Schaub, Romo and a lot of other guys can't get there (yet). He is still very young and the knocks on him are a little over-blown imo. He does stare down receivers somewhat but most young guys do and it's a learning curve in the NFL. Even though I'm a Seahawk fan, I don't have this weird hate for the guy like others seem too. As I said way back at the beginning of the season when Kaep struggled in Seattle, it's too early to judge him based on those 2 games at the Clink. The guy has a unique skill-set and only time will tell if he can adjust and adapt in the NFL. I think he's pretty close. As for football "smarts", that is learned through experience, much like most things in life.
