At least the Bengals aren't oblivious to the fact that they need a veteran #2.

Unfortunately though, they're always content with finding the cheapest option on the market.

ROTFLMAO..... wow! But is this really a surprise? The Bengals pass on Jabar Gaffney, who actually would have made sense, for another declining former 1st Rounder.

That must mean Sanu is impressing people in work outs... Bengals fear success.

I cant get behind this move for 2 reasons....1). He's a jergoff 2). He can't catch the ball. Really dont think the risk of having this guy around your young WR's warrants the production he could give you.

Actually I think TO got somewhat of a bad rap in Cincinnati. The dude produced and from what I understood was a good teamate. I think Chad was the real diva (in Cinci at least...not Philly or Dallas)

Terrell was our most productive receiver, and he really didn't misbehave here, he just tended to flake on some routes and catches. The film is permanent and Cincinnati was his last chance at the NFL, he chose to protect his body from injury and injured peoples faith in him instead.

Edwards "produced" as well though if you want to just look at it from a numbers perspective. 900+ yards and 7 TDs with Sanchez as his QB. Not too shabby.

However, IIRC, 3 of his TDs came in 1 game, and his butterfingers are well known about. Point being, stats don't tell the whole story.

TO over his last 5 seasons led the league in targeted interceptions (# of passes intercepted with him as the target) with 3 different QB's.

Both TO and Edwards suck.

At this point, the Bengals are better off giving the reps to guys who are going to impact this team down the road. Sanu, Jones, anyone that was on the PS last year who have been working on the offense during the off-season are going to offer a lot more than a washed-up WR who never lived up to the hype of being a #1 pick.

If Gruden can work it with a rookie QB and a rookie WR with a sub-par OL last year and a less than average RB....I feel good about Dalton/Green upgraded OL and RB (if if marginal) to add in either rookie pick at WR.

Shipley has been cleared to resume, adding him underneath with Gresham will help the #2 WR, whoever it ends up being. You know defense will gear their coverage towards AJ, that leaves a lot of open spaces on the other side of the field and underneath.

If anyone can figure out how to make it work, after last year, it's hard not to have faith that it's Gruden.

Why do so many people in Cincy hate on TO? He produced more than any receiver we had, and stayed quiet off the field. It's like cincy fans can't go without finding SOMETHING to bitch about.

When your #1/#2 receiver is leading the league in passes intercepted when targeted, I'd like to believe you have a legitimate gripe.

He also did not stay quiet off the field. He was complaining about Brat by midseason. Him and Ocho had their little tv show throughout the season where they were taking some not-so-subtle shots at the organization.

TO was a cancer! He would cut off routes, because he didn't want to get hit, which would lead to interceptions. Then towards the end of that season starting bitching about the losses that were caused by the interceptions he caused by cutting off his routes. Its funny how quickly people forget things.

excerpt~

Receiver Terrell Owens says the Cincinnati Bengals' lousy season is the result of underachieving "from the top down," and he particularly points a finger at the coaches.

Teammate Chad Ochocinco asked Owens during "The T.Ocho Show" on Versus cable network Tuesday night why he thinks the team is 2-11.

"I think there's underachieving from the top down," Owens said. "You start with the owner, you start with the coaches. And obviously we as players, we are a product of what the coaches are coaching us throughout the course of the week.

I see nothing but truth in this statement. He said the same things we all say here day in and day out. Mikey Boy, Brat, Marvin? All shit. How does that equal 'cancer'?

and no way will I you find me blaming Carson's INTs on TO alone. That guy would get picked in an elementary school recess game.
