And we won’t know for a while if Ben got the laugh last night. He only showed in an attempt to generate evidence in his lie about mental health to get his money back. The people who lost last night are the ones who were saying his claims are legit. If he had a legit mental health issue he doesn’t go into that building to sit there. Why risk a setback with his “mental health” when he isn’t even on the court playing? Last night proved he’s a liar.
BOOM.

It was a trade of malcontents. I blame the weakest commissioner in the history of sports for allowing all of this to happen. Silver is horrible.
Silver owes the Sixers for meddling with their franchise.

Silver never did any serious meddling, he is a giant pussy
He told the Sixers they had to neuter Hinkie knowing it would result in him quitting. They made the poor dude unhireable and strapped the Sixers with the Colangelo men. Fuck those bastards.

Allowing what to happen? The commissioner can control the contentment of star players?

I don’t think stuff like Wall getting paid to sit would be happening if we had a strong commissioner. That and some other things are ridiculous.

the TEAM doesn't want him to play.

They dont want him tearing an acl so they can still try to trade him.

He wants to play. But gets that this is his only way out of town without taking a buyout.

My dream entails Joel Embiid taking the Larry O’Brien trophy from his hands and then he rubs that bitch’s bald dome and screams Trust The Process!

I’m not blaiming Wall, I’m saying this should not be allowed to happen. It’s simple, you have a contract you play.

I agree the Wall situation could be handled better by the commissioner, because it involves the team too. But no commissioner can prevent a player pouting their way out of town like Harden and Simmons.

The fact is more than any other league the NBA is a players run league. This is for many reasons including the small teams making each individual star player much more powerful, the marketing of the individual stars vs the teams, the specific case of Michael Jordan becoming almost as big as the league itself etc. You can either accept it and enjoy it or move on from the sport. Expecting some star commissioner to come in and change that is a pipe dream, not happening.

Personally I don't mind it. The players run things, so what? The personalities and drama are part of the fun for me.

But in this case it's not on the player. This isn't Simmons refusing to man up.

what's the difference?

The team just doesn't announce it and he still doesn't play?

They can't force Wall onto the floor.

It isn’t that simple.

In some cases, like Wall, it is in the best interest of both parties that he not play.

That way maybe some sucker team will think he still can.

Lakers might have been that sucker had the Rockets not asked for that first rounder too.

1-21 start is a problem. You can't expect the commissioner to ignore obvious tanking while your #3 overall pick continues to sit after already missing a year.

Hinkie isn't without blame; he drafted Okafor. Without Embiid's injury concerns, he goes #1 to Cleveland and all of this is moot.
