Ben Simmons formally demands trade

I wonder if Ben Simmons even plays this season at this point. I am so happy we dumped this dude.

How is he not in shape to play? I thought it was a mental health issue. Did he twist his back playing Call of Duty online for 3 months straight???

Simmons is just stealing money from the Sixers and Nets this season.

I seriously question his love of basketball. This is something he has always done because he was tall and athletic, his dad made him do it, and it brought him fame and money. But I don't get the sense he loves it, like a Tyrese Maxey or Joel Embiid clearly love the game itself.

Pretty sure he hasn't been paid for every game he missed with the Sixers.
And maybe some of the days/practices before he 'rejoined' the team.

So, yeah, whatever.

It will take years of course to determine who won this trade, but with the news that Simmons may miss another month, it is becoming crystal clear that Philly won in the short term. Harden is on the court and looking quite dialed in. Philly is winning and has enhanced its odds of winning a ring in the next two years while Embiid is in his prime. Philly didn't trade Maxey or Thybulle, their young ascending players--Maxey is becoming a star.

FWIW, his ORTG has always been higher than his DRTG for his career.

And he has pretty good Defensive Win Shares (DWS) and DBPM (Defensive Box Score Plus Minus) based on advanced stats at BasketballReference.com.

I get it. He can look disinterested at times, but I believe there will be effort there when needed.

Certainly not bitter. Vindicated would be the word because I have said all along that Presti saw signs of this behavior and that’s why he was traded.
