hell no.

I said 3 years from the trade he would be the best player in it.
Ha. I was gonna say, that’s a weird flex when he got emasculated last time out. Embiid had 40/14/10 and JA was -27

It is stuff like this why people don’t take you seriously.

If he had been traded to the Grizzlies instead of the Cavs, you would not be posting this.

In 3 years Harden will still probably be the best player in the deal and LeVert and Dipo will still be better than Allen.

he might be named to the All Star team sometime in the next 24 hours which is cool

im hoping

Siakam and Brown are pretty great candidates too though.

Saturday night showed he still has a ways to go to really be an All Star. Nice young player though but in 3 years he’s not even going to be the best 5 on his team.

Purely from a player perspective, how great is this outcome for Simmons.

Seven months after he decided he didn't want to play in Philly, he ends up on maybe the most talented roster in the league with a legit shot at a ring.

Looking back over the last 10 or so years, it appears that a star player who wants a change of scenery has ways to make it happen and there's not much anyone can do to stop them.

Probably Simmons. Harden is going to want to map out the quickest routes from the arena to the strip clubs. Plus he has to visit each so he can rank them, decide which ones he wants to frequent and pick out his favorite table at each one.

Important shit like that takes time.
And the closer we get to the off-season the more important it becomes.

I am a little disappointed as I had read reports suggesting he might play this week, but honestly having him hold out a week and rehab the hammy/get in better shape is probably smart.
Yep. They have bigger aspirations than winning some regular season games.

I dont know if Mobley is a "center" long term- itll be interesting to see.

you have seen how he guards on the perimeter. I think PF is where he could stay just because of how versatile he is- I think his shooting will continue to develop.

although- i do think the long term plan is that Markkanen gets some of his minutes as a stretch 4 when Allen and/or Mobley are off the court once Love's contract is up after next year.

with how much fun Love is having- i wonder if there is any chance he just decides to stay here, on an (obviously) reduced contract. What would be fair for this version of Kevin Love? They do have Bird Rights and at that point its highly unlikely they are working with cap room.

one bad game against Embiid does not take away what Allen has done this season.

He has been the stalwart on the best defense in the East and is averaging like 17 and 11- shooting almost 70% from the floor. He has been incredibly valuable- and beside Garland, is the 2nd most important Cav.

Mobley will surpass him at some point- but no doubt Allen is a legitimate option to replace Harden. Itll be interesting to see what happens.

in order of importance, id rank the Cavs:

1. Garland- far and away
2. Allen
3. Mobley
4. LeVert
5. Love
6. Markkanen
7. Okoro
8. Cedi
9. Wade
10. Rondo

Embiid abuses everyone but JA has always struggled against big centers especially Embiid, it's his weakness. All Star players have weaknesses, it's when you get into stars and superstars where you cross out those weaknesses. JA can certainly be a borderline AS player for years to come and still get dominated by Embiid. I'm really not sure what he can change, he just isn't the big body that can push around people. He doesn't need to be the #2 option basically what he is now, which you mentioned. He should be a #4 or #5. Garland, Sexton, LeVert, Mobley then Lauri or Allen....but still unless he gains weight and a ton of it, big bodied guys are going to be a weakness for him. Even if he gets smarter with his positioning guys can push him around. It sucks but if he didn't have that weakness he probably wouldn't have been included in that Nets trade, who knows

On the Allen debate I think Brooklyn is really going to regret trading him. He is a nice player.

He is a nice player. He’s not one of the 30 best players in the league which is what an All Star is. Garland is an All Star.

maybe....but thats not necessarily the definition of an all star

kyrie is top 30 but hasnt played enough games. Same with Klay. Kawhi and George are hurt. Some guys like Beal have just had a bad year on a bad team. More guys like that than you think.

itll be interesting. Brown and Siakam also have strong cases.

Bam has a case as well- but prob. hasnt played enough games.

We shall see. Cavs defense went from being abysmal to the best in the East thus far this season and Allen is the biggest reason why (though Mobley not too far behind). Combine that with their record, 16, and 11 on 69% TS......gets you in the conversation.
