When was the last time Cowherd was right about anything?
He talked about what successful nfl franchise needs
(In school letter grades)
A qb
A coach
A GM
A owner

Morey gets his man, when all the haters called it impossible, and now they whine.
Talk about revisionist history LOL!
This is some revisionist history. Simmons was used as the centerpiece to get exactly what the Sixers needed…a guard as a number two option who is a three level scorer who can get his own shot. That’s exactly the type of player many of you guys all told us was a pipe dream for the Sixers fan to even dream of getting. People in this thread were saying the Sixers were nuts not to jump for Malcolm Brogdan or CJ McCollum or similar underwhelming acquisitions that wouldn’t net the Sixers the piece they needed alongside Embiid. They did give up other assets to make it work but without Simmons as the centerpiece they don’t even get to the table to negotiate this one.lol @you thinking the Sixers "won the trade". And talk about some revisionist history. Sixers fans were all saying they were going to get a big haul for Simmons and ended up giving up the kind of deal they thought they were getting back...to get 33 year old James Harden who looks like he's declining...and, at least on paper, improved a direct competitor in the process.
I'm sure they're just playing 6D chess though. lol

Sounds a little like Maxey.…a guard as a number two option who is a three level scorer who can get his own shot...
We’ll see. That’s why they play the games. Do you think Steve Nash figures that shit out in about 15 games before playoffs? I don’t think he figures out how to make that work if you give him 60 games.lol
All while giving a direct competitor that was already better than you, exactly what they needed to continue to be better than you. On paper, what the Sixers gave up helps the Nets more than Harden helps the Sixers.
Like I said...6D chess. lol
If they're at full health... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to coach the Nets. We’ll see. That’s why they play the games. Do you think Steve Nash figures that shit out in about 15 games before playoffs? I don’t think he figures out how to make that work if you give him 60 games.
All the sudden you're a Sixers fan?not mad at all
I am pretty happy. We have a championship caliber NBA team in Philly.
how many losses in a row do the Nets have right now?
LOL.i don't keep tabs on the nets
No doubt. Maxey is trending toward being a projection to being that guy. But he’s 21 and he’s not there now. As we’ve discussed many times in this thread, with Joel Embiid tomorrow is never promised. I’m glad my squad is going for it now. Here’s where they sit into the future. Harden takes his player option for 22-23 kicking the can on the Sixers having to make a long term commitment. 23-24 Harris 39 million comes off the books. The Sixers have optionality going forward because they kept that piece of Maxey. They seemingly have multiple cracks at this thing as long as Embiid stays a viable top 5 player in the league. In 24-25 the Sixers may be the Embiid Maxey show with some of that open cap available to get a third star to play with them. I get the claim the Sixers helped the Nets get better. I’ve said similar things myself. But I think it’s clear that the Sixers have positioned themselves to have a real shot at competing now and in the future. Selfishly, this season was heading towards an expectant early playoff exit again with the only intrigue being whether or not Embiid closes on an MVP but now they’ve given me something worthy of a sports fan’s investment and that’s really all you can ask for.Sounds a little like Maxey.
Which begs questions about the need and fit of Harden.
I think the biggest asset they have is Kyrie in the Simmons conundrum. The Sixers best run with Simmons in the attack came in 2018-19 with Jimmy Butler running PG in the half court. Simmons still had no role in the half court offense but at least the Sixers had a PG to turn to.If they're at full health... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to coach the Nets.
Even with the conundrum that is Ben Simmons on the roster... they have the solution that is Kevin Durant.
They even have the back-up solution that is Kyrie...
In other words, two guys that are the best in the business at creating offense all on their own. With shooting around them to spare, even factoring in a shooting zero like Simmons.
We’ll see. That’s why they play the games. Do you think Steve Nash figures that shit out in about 15 games before playoffs? I don’t think he figures out how to make that work if you give him 60 games.
That might be the missing part of the equation.
On paper the Brooklyn roster is amazing and the pieces should fit really well.
But can Nash manage it correctly and get everyone to buy in to their ideal roles?
Not as confident about that.
It was a very odd hire
And coach Pringles came and sat on the bench next to him for a year.Yeah, I think Nash, at least based on his playing career, is definitely smart enough to make the jump straight from former player to head coach. But not with a team that has championship aspirations. That would be difficult enough for an assistant with no head coaching experience.
It would have been more understandable if he were hired for a young team that was looking to all grow up together.
No matter how smart someone was as a player, there is still a learning curve. Heck, there's a learning curve going from assistant coach to head coach for someone with no HC experience. Even more of one when they haven't even been an assistant.

In todays NBA that is as much KDs job as anyone else’sThat might be the missing part of the equation.

Agreed. But not as weird when you think that the Nets have essentially made KD GM and coach. Nash is a guy that KD can run.Atkinson did a good job there imo
weird to can him
