I was at the Cubs convention and a lot of fans were chanting and yelling at Ricketts to spend more money like the Dodgers.

So the good news is now they have to or they know fans will stop spending money.

So as a Cubs fan I have that to look forward to. Which is nice.
That’s not the same thing at all, but I wouldn’t expect you to understand that given your unfortunate circumstances in life.

A comprehensive overview of which chants matter and which don’t would be a good place to start.

Please provide that. It will go a long way to decrease the confusion.

And maybe provide some credible proof that Bears fans were actually threatening to spend less money.

Or admit that’s just an opinion with no substance.

So chants only count when they benefit your argument?
They count more when a stadium full of season ticket holders do it rather than a smattering of diehards at an insignificant event shouting at the ownership. I think anyone over 12 would understand that.

Both are examples of paying fans voicing an opinion. Only the venue has changed.

But that’s fine. Let’s shift to the Bulls. In 23/24 they averaged over 20K fans a night. More than any team in the league. A lot of games, especially down the stretch and the end, featured fans booing the team and booing team executives every chance they had. But, like Solider Field, the place is filled. Think Reinsdorf feels any pressure to put a better product on the court?

Now is when you can just admit you based your whole argument on unfounded opinion. It’s totally okay. It happens. All you can do is try to be better next time.

I don’t care anymore, man. You’re such a douche bag. And you’re an idiot to boot. I’m done reading your shitty posts. I got better things to do.

And it’s not a coincidence that the bears actually hired coaches people actually wanted for a change at many different coaching positions right after the crowd chanted sell the team. You cannot believe it, I don’t really care. It doesn’t even matter anyway.

So you’re saying you can’t answer? Maybe the United Center isn’t big enough so that doesn’t count?

It’s not like it’s the first time the team hired someone fans wanted.

Bears hired the hottest name on the coaching market decades ago when they plucked Dave Wannstedt from the SB winning Cowboys.

Lovie was a well thought of coordinator that fans celebrated. Fans loved that Fox came with SB experience. Fans loved that Nagy was an offensive guy.

No different than trading for Mack or signing Peppers….the GMs that have ran this team sometimes get things right. Has nothing to do with the idiots that own the team.

The McCaskeys don’t care about chants. And they aren’t worried about fans walking away.

Of course, this thread turned into this... because it's this forum. And that's what happens.

Sad to realize the Cubs are at the very bottom, well one up, from the stand point of having excess revenue after expenses. Only $30 million. Know who's near the top? White Sox scoring at $106 million in profits.

Remember before this clown showed up? We used to argue with each other.

Those were the days…
I certainly do. lol

I block the ones that constantly start all that shit up now. I think that I used to take my bull shit out on strangers in here, but I've reevaluated a lot of that. Particularly, over the past two years. I made some changes with my overall approach to things and I'm a lot more calm. Friends and family also notice. I don't let shit bother me that has nothing to do with me.

Some of it is quitting drinking, some of it is therapy, some of it is ending a toxic relationship I was in (coming on here straight from an argument with her wasn't good lol), and some of it? Is just getting older and (slightly) less stupid. Being angry and arguing is exhausting. Especially with freakin strangers on the internet. People can sit here and justify it by saying it's "entertaining to them" etc. That's bull shit, though (IMO). Every moment you waste on that takes a little something out of you. Even if you don't notice.

That doesn't mean I'm above rolling my eyes at a comment or making a smart ass response. That's as far as it usually goes, though. If you disagree with my opinion on a sports team? At the end of the day, it's really okay.

I used to lose my mind over this shit in Cutler days. Sheesh. Nagy/Mitch days were still bad, too.

Glad to hear it. I hope you found someone new and better for you!
