what, the fat guy to run the gadget plays at the goal line?

No, your Kramer obsession.

You're in love with a guy that can't crack the lineup on one of the league's worst offensive lines. You're either related to him or want him to be inside of you.

Yoohoo gives the Johnson hire an A-

This is the most excited assistant-to-head coach hire our fan base has felt since Lovie. Some might even date it back to Dave Wannstedt. I remember when he was the DC for the then SB champ Cowboys, just about every fan of teams with a HC opening was clamoring for him.
Lovie didn't have near the hype of Ben Johnson. In fact, Lovie was considered to be a pretty "meh... we'll see" hiring. He said that quote about beating Green Bay in his presser. However, that only began to look cool because we actually would go onto have success against Green Bay during his first several years as HC (pretty much until Rodgers kicked it into gear in 09 - then the ownage started).

From 2004-2008 we were 7-3 against Green Bay (and one game we rested starters final week with HFA sewed up). Sort of hard to believe that we ever had a stretch where we took care of Green Bay like that. It feels like they've just run over us forever now.

They are 28-5 against us since 2009 (including the NFCCG)

That is just... yowza

Just…

…can everyone temper our expectations for year one. Already hearing that ANYTHING short of playoffs is a failure, etc…

Everyone just let Poles, Johnson, Allen, etc… cook and give it time if we don’t see instant success.

Caveat: If our offense looks as dysfunctional and embarrassing as it did this year through the first few games? THEN you have my permission to panic.

Bears added two coaches to the staff. Eric Bienemy for the RBs, Jim Dray for TEs.

Eric Bienemy was hired as the RB coach and Denver TE coach Declan Doyle was hired as the OC?

Yeah, because Bienemy sucks. It’s not hard to hold the clip board for Andy Reid. We learned that lesson with Matt Nagy, who also sucks.

Although, Bienemy has more potential to improve imo, because it seems like he’s interested in learning. Nagy is just a bag of hot air that never seems to run out and is content holding Andy Reid’s clipboard. At least Eric B realized that and got out of KC.

A lot of HCs think Declan Doyle is special, and we might have to let him go after a few years to a team that lets him play call, or maybe even to a HC position.

EB doesn't suck. He did a great job this season with the UCLA Bruins and our scrub QB.

Guaranteed if the Bears struggle.....Doyle will be the fall guy and EB will get promoted to OC.

I don’t think Ben Johnson is going to have a scape goat for the media. That’s what weak coaches do. Good HCs take responsibility, even if it wasn’t their fault.

If Bears improve the OL and EB got the OC job.....he will have Caleb looking like a poor man's Mahomes.

Nah. It will definitely be a failure. Hell, they lost 4 games this year in unbelievable fashion.

That's 9 wins there, that you can honestly say should've been.

They have a solid, young roster with holes on the lines that they should be able to plug in FA and the Draft.

I expect the Bears to win next year. I expected them to win this year, despite knowing Eberflus was shit that should've never been brought back. They should absolutely be in playoff contention next year. It will be very disappointing if there isn't vast improvement.

No, if that happens, EB is just going to hold BJs clipboard, like he did so well for Andy Reid.

Why was he fired from UCLA?

Because, you don't know what you're talking about.
College football is like playing a game on easy. NFL football is like playing the same game on the hardest mode possible.

If what you’re saying is true, then Nick saban would’ve dominated the nfl.

Being an OC is a lot easier than being a HC.

Apples to oranges.
