White Sox deal second baseman Gordon Beckham to the Angels | whitesox.com: News

The White Sox have traded second baseman Gordon Beckham to the Angels in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Beckham, 27, was batting just .221 with 24 doubles, seven home runs and 36 RBIs in 101 games for the White Sox in 2014 after agreeing to a one-year contract last off-season.

A career .244 hitter since making his debut with Chicago in 2009, Beckham will join an Angels team vying for an American League West title.

To fill the open spot on their 25-man roster, the White Sox will make a corresponding move before Friday night's series opener against the Yankees.

I'm gonna miss our DP Ramirez/Beckham combo ... but not his erratic bat.

truth is beckham was an average fielder 'at best', altho his defensive war shows him to be extremely poor. he will not be missed.
