NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Kirk Cousins is expected to sign his franchise tender soon.
According to Rapoport, Cousins is a "good soldier" and knows he's "likely not going anywhere." ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Thursday that Cousins asked owner Dan Snyder for a trade but was told "not to get his hopes up." It's still likely Cousins would prefer to play elsewhere but for now, he's content to let his contract run out and test the market in 2018. Cousins is believed to be eyeing a reunion with former Redskins OC Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco. Mar 9 - 8:21 PM
No way this plays out. This would be foolish of Redskins to not trade a player who doesn't want to be here or will walk next year after investing over $43M over 2 years.
