I bitched most of the season that BB should be gone … and now that he is, I’m sad
Sorta like having your mother in law living with you for 24 years.

All those good times when she babysat for the kids while they were growing up. All the times that she cleaned the house and cooked supper when the wife was working and the kids were in school. Then she got old, couldn't do anything, got demented. Couldn't kill her. Wife hated the idea of a costly rest home or hospice. Finally, she just couldn't live with you and she died. Sad, but such a relief. Now you and the wife can move on and live your lives.

Yes, but she can say that she had to because he was already looking forward to leaving and screwed her pooch.

Any word about the rest of the Belichick staff? Or did they all get automatically canned too??
No she can't.
You take matters into your own hands and you own it.

Because no team can just hire someone. Even if they want to hand the job to Mayo, they must go through the NFL hiring protocol. That's the BS because the Rooney Rule ensures that every team makes a mockery and brings in minorities that they have no intention of hiring to make it ""look"" legitimate. Then the minority guy turns around and says he feels cheapened. Not cheated, cheapened.

More than a few owners have brought in guys that weren't qualified to meet the numbers rule. Having a rule that doesn't benefit every candidate and make for equal and unbiased opportunity is BS.

I understand that you're not baiting me. The Rooney Rule is poorly written and makes the rule a number standard and not a qualification standard nor does it prevent an owner from hiring who he wants.
It does ensure minority candidates get experience with the interview process.

Well, that was dark.

The real problem is that it does not. I want to hire Belichick to coach my team. I bring in Flores, Bienemy, Mayo and Vrabel. Just how do I interview them correctly to give them experience? I already know, Bill already knows and the world knows that I'm wasting the other goys' time because Bill was mentioned in the same breath.

I understand that the rule is well intended. It's just not practiced correctly and probably never will be.

NFL Owners are a billionaires' private club. They obey the rules when it's to their advantage. They ignore them when they are not. Has any owner ever been fined or lost a first round draft pick for hiring Shanahan, McCarthy, McDaniel, Nagy, McVay and not Bienemy, Flores, or any other token minority??

Coaching staff was present in the room where press conference was held.

As were former BB coaches including Josh McDaniels.

You didn't see this coming? It sucks for sure and I am saddened by this news as he was basically the HC for half my life!

I honestly didn't think it would happen, no. I assumed it was NE sports media bluster. Unfortunately, that blowhard Curran can now say he called it all along. Fuck that guy.

Not sure who gets the gig but we had a fantastic defense. What happens to that?

I don't like Curran either.

I just didn't see how Kraft would make it work with Bill. Bill wouldn't want to give up any control so Kraft was in a tight spot.

Defense will likely degress but hopefully this means the offense actually gets better and won't need to rely so heavily on the defense
