Robbie Ross had a good night through 6 IP only giving up 1 run. He gave up 3 in the 7th though.

Have said I wouldn't mind seeing Cotts back next year but he has to be closer to last year than what he has been this year. Can't expect him to be as good as last year but closer to that than what he has done this season would be nice

That was his 6th blown save and his record is 2-6 to go with 16 holds.

Chirinos, who entered professional baseball as an infielder, had started only 18 games at catcher in his major league career before this season. He has 66 starts this season, and the Rangers are 25-41 with a 4.93 ERA in those games. They are 20-29 with a 4.63 ERA in all other games.

Outfielder Jake Smolinski will wear a walking boot on his left foot for about two weeks. Smolinski has been on the disabled list since July 22 because of a slowly healing fracture in the foot. There is a chance that he will not play again this season.

The Miami Marlins will attempt to sign star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton to a long-term contract this offseason, but some in the organization aren't optimistic of coming to an agreement, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

Stanton, 24, is under team control through the 2016 season and is likely to eventually fetch an expensive long-term deal.
