If you don't like the pace of play then don't watch... Simple as that. Especially when you pay almost $150 with ticket and food to watch a game... I want my time there and not only to sit in the stands for 90 minutes
Damn good point. I don't watch a whole baseball game, I pick up a close game around the 7th inning. No way in hell do I watch a 3/4 hour game. Baseball has to find a way to speed up their games.

Average MLB game is shorter that average NFL game.

Okay, but IMO an NFL game has more excitement during the time of their games. Baseball could speed up their game with a few changes. I think they shouldn't allow the batter to get out of the box once he is set in. Of course you would have to put a timer on the pitcher. There is no sense in allowing the pitcher to take more than 15/20 seconds to pitch the ball. JMHO.

I can remember when basketball was a non-contact sport, and football was a contact sport.

I like to sit on the deck listening to the radio play by play in the summer with a beer.

The best way to experience baseball. I remember listening to the Astros on the radio when I was a kid, hoping to catch the score of the Tigers game. I got to rooting for the Astros in those games.

You do sound retarded in this American baseball thread.

I guess rice is the #1 food to you too.

The OP talks about MLB revenues, not revenues in America... You're going to say that MLB doesn't get revenues from people internationally?

So when the Mariners home opener was in Japan, they made no money off of ticket sales? Were the Mariners doing this pro bono?

There's a 100% chance you'll sidestep the above question because you know that answering it truthfully kills your argument...

Yeah with the price of baseball games now I do not want to be in the stands for a short time. I mean why should I spend all that money and NOT getting my money's worth

The length of a game does not determine how good the game is. But, if you don't want to invest the time, that is on you, not baseball.

Good point, but when a game starts at 7 pm and you take your kids with you, you seldom get home before 11/12 and there is school the next day. IMO it's too much of a hassle to go to a game, unless it's a playoff gsme.

They can find a way to speed up the length of a baseball, without changing the quality of the game.

Like what?

For instance, the 3 batter minimum for relief pitchers. It will change the startegy quite a bit for when to change pitchers, roster building etc. It may be a positive thing and it may end up a negative thing. I will have to admit that I like the idea if putting batters and pitchers on the clock. Also, shortening the time between innings.
