Good question

I Choose Geo

i do believe Ball will catch more than last year however i cant resist Geo in the open field

with all that said if Ball is there at the right draft spot then i could easily end up with Ball in a ppr
and after picking Ball i would be picking a WR next and miss out on Gio with my next pic

I'm probably the highest on Ball and fairly low on Bernard, because:

Ball's a better back than Moreno, and even if the offense doesn't explode like it did last year, Ball should do as well as Moreno did last year if not better. And he caught 20 passes in very limited duty. Bernard might get 60 passes, but Ball should get 50.

And despite pre-season looks, I don't think Bernard is reliably the guy at the goal line; Ball will be.

i need to redefine my answer

i should really answer the question with i choose Ball first

because in draft mode i would choose Ball first so now i look the fool

i guess in my silly head i break down Ball as a topped ranked Rb and Gio as a next to top ranked Rb and thus bump him closer in PPR

again with that being said i usually find i draft Gio and not Ball and that has nothing to do with answering the straight up question..it has everything to do with i usually pick top Wr before Ball when both are avaiable and thus miss out on him

or maybe i should have stayed:noidea: out of this thread

Again if WW is right and Ball only has 10 catches less then Gio then Ball is the easy choice

I'd take Ball..I feel the system he's in more than makes up for whatever possible catches he might lack in comparison to Gio.. If there even is any.

Agreed even with the slight bump ppr with gio, ball will get more 6 looks then ppr

So you guys aren't worried that Hillman could supplant ball at all? He's not going to be back until the regular season starts and Peyton values blocking/receiving skills over running ability.

I would go with Gio. As i'm not sold on Ball yet. Though Gio has Hill competing with him for touches. I don't see Hillman being a threat at all. Just think Gio is a better overall talent.

Not when Peyton is talking him up to the media. He did the same thing with Julius last year.

HIllman has no blocking skills, receiving yes, fumbling yes, blocking no, and Peyton values ball security over EVERYTHING, pass protection a close second. Hillman has no shot at anything more than a change of pace back, CJ Anderson is a bigger threat threat than Hillman

I agree about the security thing and Ball has 3 lost fumbles in his 140 touches. Hillman is getting the opportunity while Ball is recovering from his surgery I'm just saying there is some risk there and if you draft Ball you should handcuff him. Ball has more upside, but i'll take Bernard given the choice in ppr even if hes in a rbbc.

all three were in his first four games as he adjusted to NFL speed..dude didn't lose a fumble through three years in college, and finally coughed one up in his final year. He knows how to protect the ball, meanwhile, Hillman fumbled the very first punt he tried to field in camp, as well as his second handoff from Brock Osweiler..there's no threat

I would go with Ball. I might be biased since Moreno did so well for me last year off waivers. I think Ball is a better runner than Moreno and I think he'll do good. I was interested in Ball but Yahoo had him ranked high and he was gone early.

I am higher on Gio than most and was prepared to take him in the first round of lat night's MBBRL draft, but he did not make it to me. That being said, Ball is a level above and has the potential to be the #1 RB this season. Gio does not have that type of upside. PPR makes it a little closer, but Ball wins this by a landslide.

Gio had 1200 yards and 8 td's last season as a rookie (combined).

1700 yards and 12 td's seems reasonable this season.

Will Ball top that? And if so, by how much? You'll most certainly have to take Ball a lot higher in any draft because of who he plays for and with.

Gio is the much better selection.

Kramer - I think he's talking about at the same draft pick, which would you take.

Yes I am. I am in a 1-keeper league and with the 2nd pick, those are the two I'm looking at. The other top rbs have all been kept and those are the ones I feel will be the best options.

Tough. Real tough. Gio just had a nice goal line TD in the last preseason game where the Jets stuffed the line and he still powered thru for the score.

Flip a coin? Both O-lines are solid. The Bengals will run the ball more this season with Hue Jackson instead of Jay Gruden. Take that into account.

It is not that tough. I love Gio, but his role is still somewhat in doubt. Why would the Bengals spend a second round pick on an RB if they believed that Gio was a 3 down workhorse? They wouldn't.

Ball is the man here, hands down.
