It wasn't a stupid decision. He's still gonna be a millionaire very soon. His family got to see him play. All he's given up for that is having to do more volunteer work. He should go on vacation until the draft and let an agent or advertiser pay for it.
I think the whole "paid for his family to go to the Rose Bowl" thing was debunked by his statement. He said he received the loan the summer before his freshman year and then paid it back this last summer. 2 years to pay back a loan sounds about fair for a college kid.

Ohio State is THE WORST at handling these situations

The SEC and Clemsons of the world have paved the way. Basically tell the NCAA to fuck off and dont admit anything.
The rest of the conferences should follow suit, if that’s the case.

...flying the clan across the nation and back for a football game is 'basic life expenses'?
Why would he take a loan out to fly his family out for a football game a year and half before the game was played? He himself never said it was for the Rose Bowl. That seems to just be a rumor at this point.

Do you seriously expect consistency from the NCAA? Really? Did you just start following college sports this year?
Thing is, I don't think the NCAA itself has even weighed in yet. The suspension came from OSU. The NCAA is aware of it from OSU reporting it from how it sounds, so the 1 game may be it.

That Louis Vitton backpack and two phones were probably what the money was for.

I get what your saying but the heaviest penalty will be from the NCAA who are looking into now.

Stupid decision from a fan’s perspective.

Certainly not a stupid decision for Mr Chase Young.

He's been to some bowl games. What were the gifts for those? Sometimes they give out good shit.

oh.

I guess that's why he tweeted an apology?

He’s a stand up guy. He broke a dumb rule. He is keeping a good name by apologizing.

It’s idiocy that he should be expected to apologize for doing what he did.

NFL scouts will not care if he apologized or not, but that he did probably adds even more value to the young man.
