Rypien. Hogan offers nothing as an NFL QB. Brett has limited skills, but I'd go with an unknown over known mediocrity every time.

Or try to coax Luck out of retirement.

Indy is trying to trade for Nate Sudfeld.

Riddick report was 6-8 weeks when he got hurt. I’d IR him after cuts. Then decide if you want him or to cut him after he is healthy. Not sure he helps us much anyway. If we didn’t want him around though wed probably have placed him on IR already then cut him with injury settlement when healthy. Who knows what we will do with him. My guess isn’t he won’t sit on our active roster for 5-6 weeks unhealthy though.

I believe he would miss the 2-4 weeks in the regular season, same as Jano.

Lock is the biggest question. I am hopeful that his recovery will not be that long as he is the most viable backup we have on the active roster.

So did Jay Cutler. A poopy QB can have a nice arm, but if they throw to the other team, they aren't worth a roster spot.

Why put Lock on IR unless his injury is season ending?

I never understand why all teams don’t keep 3 QBs on the 53. That 53rd man rarely if ever dresses for game day so why not have a QB with a skill set you like in the building everyday

Odds of losing 2 QBs to injury in 1 game, coupled with the fact most teams have a guy at another skill position who played QB in college.

Rypien will likely go to the PS. Not convinced Hogan will be our backup just yet though. Possibly CJ Beathard, Josh Dobbs, Nate Sudfeld or Cardale Jones are names I would look at.

that was why we were trying to stash Rypien, lock got all his throws.

The staff is going to give Rypien a long look this next game hopefully he gets some players that will help him out some.

My guess is Staff will cut hogan and roll the dice that we will not need Rypien who they like but they know did not get much time by design to stash him.

I think what we do at the QB position is going to be determined on how far Lock has come, and when they anticipate that Lock might be back. If Lock is going to be back week 2 or 3 then we maybe roll the dice with Rypien. If he is out until week 6 then that is a different discussion.
