I'm not sure Jerry is going to ask for your endorsement:suds:

already lacking a 5th round pick makes me not all that in favor of trading up unless it's a super star.
Much more in favor of trading down to add another this year's since it's so deep

Agree. It would have to be a player the scouts and Garrett are drooling over. I'd prefer to just stay put, but with the hot streak they are on if they liked a guy enough to trade up I'd be happy with it.

I don't know about "Super Star", but I think Barnett will go to a few Pro-Bowls.

Shows what you know! Jerry and I are boys! /s
I'm not a big fan of GM Jerry, but I wouldn't mind hanging out with him from time to time...

Jerry the GM? Meh...

Jerry the Owner? Now that is a guy I want to hangout with. Imagine being his wingman for a night? The fun...

Is there anything we could do in round one (barring a crazy reach) that you would hate?

A RB in round 1 would irk me pretty bad. That said, I love Christian Mcaffery as a prospect. He and Elliott in the same back field would terrorize defenses. If Dallas didn't have Cole Beasley, I'd probably be on board with drafting Mcaffery.

I sure hope so. I'd like 2 DB's within our first 4 selections at a minimum. Wouldn't be upset if the 1st & 2nd round selection were DB's

Our D line needs some serious umph. I think we go there first, I do like Watt but his old injuries scare me off a bit, he has had a few biggies. The other 2 picks secondary. I would be happy with many outcomes come draft though. We seem to have the holes and the drafts seems to have the plugs.

Hopefully if we trade up is does NOT include our 2nd rounder. We would really have t olove a guy to give up that pick

This drafts seems to have way too much talent in the second to give up, IMO. I am not a draft/college but I have seen enough to know our needs fit nicely with many guys in the second.

I just don't see any way we do the things I would "hate". I think they are all kind of obvious: QB, Center, K, Punter, red shirt injury player. Any other position if the team likes the guy enough I won't bitch. Would be disappointed with some other positions like TE or RB, but wouldn't complain. The team has earned some leeway. Starting round 2 and more so round 3, everything is on the table.

I won't bitch either way. I do think the more impactful player for year one would be defensive back. It just seems to me college dline guys more often than not require a year adjustment at this level.

Across the board? or just in Dallas's case? I agree in Dallas case but we really haven't gotten big named college talent there in first it seems.

Speaking of DEs, Lawrence really needs to step it up this year. We coughed up a 3rd rounder to a rival for him. Time for him to justify the trade up.

Dallas has been swinging and missing in the second round for a while now, and I'm tired of the half measures at DE. Dallas needs to pony up the 1st rounder and get one of the premier prospects, if there is one left.

Not since Demarcus Ware and Marcus Spears has Dallas made a real concerted effort to "fix" the Dline/pass rush. Greg Hardy does not count - should have never signed him in the first place.

I guess you could say drafting Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory in back to back years was an attempt, but both of those guys had their warts coming out, and Lawrence was never considered a premier prospect. In fact I'll say Lawrence was a reach and Dallas panicked when they traded up to grab him. And we all knew the deal with Gregory even before he was drafted.
