I didn't see any of the game, but saw that we didn't score in the last 5:30 of the game. How the fuck is that even possible?

And yeah, I can see that being the case. He needs Oturu to return bad, or next year will be about the same or worse. I don't think we can even make the NIT now.

Yup. He had us slow it down(fails as always) and Iowa went to a zone. We had no idea what we were doing. It was a bad game all the way through. We were lucky that Garza spent half the game on the bench, there was no Frederick and Wieskamp looked disinterested.

The 8-0 hole early on was the killer. Started the game with Demir on Garza. Demir was abused all game long and we kept him out there. Pulled Ihnen to go back to Demir.

Oturu spends all game complaining and never has the stones at the line.

The team wilts and thats on the coach. They had like 2 shot attempts in those 5 minutes....ATTEMPTS.

NIT was always going to be unlikely due to the small window to work with. Win enough..make the NCAA, don't win enough we dont have a eligible NIT record. LOL.

Jesus. Just brutal. Why slow it down? No wonder the team played like shit the last 5 minutes when you're playing not to lose the whole time. Offense is the strength of the team. Let them play at the pace they have been all season. Rightfully so lost that game. And with that the season to boot.

We did the same thing against Purude. Just kills us.

And too often we go multiple possessions of not feeding Oturu. Part of that is his fault but he needs touches. Late in games he should be posting up every possession.

I feel like Iowa is probably in the tourney now . Even if they lost out they finish 18-14 with 8/9 Q1 wins and only 1 bad loss. Might be good to win at least one more before i send out the tourney invites though.

What do you think @ericd7633 ? Should i be feeling safely in or do i need another 1 just to be safe?

I was obviously happy Iowa won but man the last 5 minutes was really telling about the current difference between Garza and Oturu. Both guys are elite but Daniel could learn from Luka about effort, fight and demanding the ball in the big moments

It wasn't like two attempts, it was a 2 attempts

A contested long two and 3 pointer that was blocked.

They had 5 turnovers, including 2 10 second violations. A lane violation on a missed FT. Just horrible down strech and pretty much killed us going to Tourney

sigh.

Iowa should be in. I wouldn't say they're 100% safe, but they're pretty safe.

Yeah you guys can lose out and you'd be fine. I think your B1G record is already good enough that you would avoid NW/Nebraska in the 1st round, so there really isn't a bad loss left on the schedule.

A lot of it is our team being dumb too. But yeah Oturu needs strength badly. He gets beat up by bigger guys and sometimes settles for mid range jumpers.

He’s a better defender than Garza imo but Garza is the better and more rounded offensive player and that makes the difference here
