Now go get Blalock and Barksdale, then draft the best OL at number 10. I can live with Jones and Barnes at C.

This was expected as Davis made it known back after the holidays he was going to sign the offer the Rams tendered.

Happy to have him back in the fold. Although I'm not as big a fan of his as some others on here, would much rather have him than not have him right now. Much more confident now going into this season than last season at the QB position...

Unless the Rams were going to chase one of the top 4 or 5 QBs in the draft, they are probably better off with Davis. Only the top 2 are definitely better, so give him another year and maybe draft a QB next year I guess. Even if they do draft a QB, he's a cheap cut.

Our QB position is really looking good. This removes a lot of the pressure for the draft and we can fulfill our needs fairly well now.

I don't know shops, as a true Blue Bruins fan, I've been watching Brett Hundley play for the last three years and he has a lot of up side coming into the NFL.

What we need to consider when drafting a QB and comparing them to Davis, is the progress they should make with 2 years in the League.

You are right about him being a cheap cut however.

Is someone who needs several years of development going to help the Rams needs now? The issue at hand is that Foles is a free agent after the season; the Rams may need a QB within a year.

Hundley appears to have the tools, but really did not improve much this past year and seems to have stagnated. He's another of these one read, then tuck and run guys. Even if you include Hundley and say the top 3 are improvements over Davis and his pro experience, he may all be gone by the Rams' second round pick.

He is a smart kid and I think he will only need a year holding on to the clip board for whatever team who ends up picking him but my point was, his up side is so much greater than what we get with either Austin or Case for that matter that he will be a much better prospect in his third year than Austin is today. Fisher may see some similarities to Mc Nair as well.

He could be there for us at Pick 41 if the Eagles somehow pick up MM by moving up or finding a trade partner.

I'm glad they signed him.

Hundley will be gone before their 2nd round pick anyways and Davis is better than all the other QB's at that point.

plus, I think Davis still has some upside to him. remember, he only played 8 games. he can still improve. plus, if Foles goes down, Davis is a better option than Keenum or some rookie QB.

I agree ALR!
I'm not so sure, we will see who wins out the backup role behind Foles. Rams thought enough of Case to go back and get him and they spent that 7th rounder to do it.

Careful Vita, your Keenum love is showing! I kid with you yes?

If you want to look at it that way, the Rams also resigned Davis, so they must have also thought enough of him! Plus they have actually seen some good things from him! Whether you believe it or not the Rams offense was scoring with Davis, and he was moving the ball, something we hadn't had for some time!
As far as Hundley being better than either one of these guys, that is very questionable, it goes back to the old he was a decent college QB, he is a question mark as far as being NFL good!

But as I said, hopefully it won't come down to either one of them, Foles hopefully plays all 16 games!

A 7th rounder is a throw away pick. Remember Michael Sam?

and why is it everyone thinks Keenum has more upside than Davis? I posted their stats in another thread and they are basically even except Davis has less turnovers

Value-wise he's right. Next years 7th is considered virtually worthless. But yes, there have been some damn good players taken in the late rounds before

Brady and Davis were 6th rounders. They don't count.

And those players you mentioned are the rare exceptions, not the rule.

Of the Rams four 7th round picks last year, only Rhaney is still with the team ( and he was the last one taken ). And the only reason he is still with the team is because the Rams are in need of centers.

He knows our offense, he's had success in our offense and he's cheap! Good to have him back!

I agree SJ76 and Zeke. I think Davis will stick with us for awhile.

As you should....Foles is a solid upgrade.
